    Day : 2 - Sunset & Beach

As I finished my Ice cream in Hotel Diana, it was time for some good food. Kediyoor hotel was the one that flashed in my mind when I thought of food. 2 reasons for this, one being it serves yummy food, second and the prime reason was it had AC. For my bad luck the non-veg restaurant was closed by the time I reached there. Had to settle with some good dosa and Mangalore buns. At this time I quickly informed my friend that I was in Udupi and would be reaching Mangalore by around 7 PM after visiting Kaup beach.
Its a distance of 17 Km from Udupi to Kaup, which I covered pretty soon and What a beautiful sight!!! Parked my bike a little after the main gate where there is a small cross road which has less crowd and where I can easily see my bike and the Sea clearly. There was some construction work going on in that area whose contractor came to me and started asking the usual questions like where are you coming from/ going ??? etc,,,,. I was worried to leave my bike there with so many people and at the right time this contractor from Malpe just asked if I was going to take a walk on the beach and that if he could join me. I politely asked one of his worker to please take care of my Luggage.
Turned out that even he used to travel long distances on his Bajaj Chetak. Some trip discussions took place, and he was very much interested in Automobiles.
He was a proud owner of an Ambassador, which was in a great condition for its age.

Thanks to him that I could enjoy the sunset without worrying about the luggage and take some pics peacefully.
Now ill let the pics do the rest of the talking.

    Happy kids

And look who's in the air

    Kapu lighthouse beach

I reached Mangalore by 7.20 pm.

One last set of pics remaining.
    To be continued.

                Day 3 : Exploring !!!

My friend's friends were to join us for a short ride to somewhere near Sullia / KL border. Even after a good party last night, getting up early for a ride wasn't hard. The plan for the day was to go to a place called Ranipuram peak which was about 40 Km from Sullia town and we'd thought that it was an unexplored place. We were a group of 4 on day 3.

                Waiting for the others,,,

The group, from left- Karthik, Srinath, Arun

The bikes were R15, My CBR, RE Bullet Standard 500 and a RE C350.

WE had to take a deviation after Sullia town from where its was bad roads initially and then we got a good stretch of curves where we started ripping. During this time we took the wrong turn and the road suddenly turned into a slush pit from a point.

We had overtaken few jeeps on the same road, and when we reached there, these jeeps started going off-road. We asked one of the jeep drives about the road to Ranipuram and about how long is the road like that. He replies this route also can be taken to our destination but is a longer route and the road was very bad for quite a long distance and was a difficult task on bikes.
This sight was tempting as well as disturbing. I had just returned from Kodachadri which had enough off-road and then this much slush meant fun but again would have been tiring. I now am feeling sad that we didn't taken that route. We were informed that the slush was worse after that place, to add to that we could hear the jeeps struggling to climb.
From there we decided to take the Decent enough route to our destination.
                On the way

                The line up

                And we were almost there

From this place it was tarred road with some good curves. We had thought that this place was less explored and we would not get any shops etc close by and this is the sight there!

Hers's the details if anyone wants to visit the place

Few meters after the above spot its a dead end. After which its a trek of about 4 Km to the view point. The place was dry, even then there were leeches . We returned back from there after an hour throug the same route and had lunch at Sullia town.
At about 330 pm we departed to our destinations. I decided to take the Kukke-Shiradi ghat-Hassan-Bangalore route as i had to visit my farm in Channarayapatna, or this was the plan. Things were awesome till about 14 Km short of Kukke. I was ripping on the curves, traffic was very less though it was sunday. And after that the rain Gods took the lead and the situation into their control all the way.
It rained from about 345 pm till around 2 am NON-STOP !!! I had misplaced my rain pant in Koda which i realized at the friends place the previous night. So i was drenched in no time. Stopped at a place after pushing for few minutes in the BULLET Rain( as the intensity of the rain was that high) and packed the luggage with Plastic covers,i especially worried about my new camera. Waited there for about an hour for the rain to calm down, that time one mini bus comes there and i hear that a big tree has fallen few Km's behind towards Sullia. Then i decided to start immediately as i feared that the kumaradhara Bridge after Kukke would be blocked. Luckily it wasnt over flowing yet and i kept pushing in that heavy rain as i wanted to cover as much distance as possible with the last light of the day. At 4pm it looked like 6 ish When i was riding that day.
MAnaged to cross Nelyadi and enter Shiradi Ghats befor it got Dark and the rains continued. Took a chai break somewhere on the way for about half an hour.

Met few more bikers who also had stopped and were literally shivering. I also was drenched head to toe but somehow I was feeling OKAY. But the only thing bothering me was the lightening Which was a dangerous sight every few mins with a immensely big blasts (thunders). As i reached Sakaleshpur the rains got too bad with huge pools of water on the road and the bike started skating. so decided to stop. It rained crazy for about 2 hours and then slowed down a little. I moved on and again it went crazy by the time i reached Hassan. another 2 hour stop. Had dinner at Channarayapatna. And again started to ride in the rain. It stopped raining after about 10 hours and 30 + minutes continuously When i was 20 Km short of home.
                Reached home by 230 am.
This Third day was super fun and scary. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this ride and reached home safe and sound.

Thank you all for going through my Tlog.
                Have Fun, Ride Safe.

Thank you Sampath. Yes it is an LED bulb. Low beam is fantastic and bright. In High beam there isn't much of a difference. But very bright light. I paid 2.5k for that bulb.
