  • Bangalore to Bangkok on a TVS Star City+

    Hi Guys,

My name is Arunabh Majumdar and I am a 28 year old guy from Bangalore and as my xBhp ID suggests, I am an IIT-Bombay alumnus. I fell in love with 2-wheelers pretty early when I was 15 years old and I am still in love with them. I've done a few big roadtrips, including a roadtrip to Spiti Valley. I've also done a ride from Mumbai to Bangalore on an Activa along the Konkan coast, covering approximately 2466 kms in 12 days. I've also done a ride to Vighakote, Gujarat on a Splendor. This place is within 700 meters of Indo-Pak border.

Now, I am embarking on a 7000 km solo motorcycle ride from Bangalore to Bangkok across 3 nations, India, Myanmar and Thailand on a 110cc TVS Star City+. The ride will flag off from Bangalore tomorrow, i.e., December 25, 2015, and if all goes according to the plan, it shall take me 28 days to cover the distance from the motherland to Bangkok.

This is going to be my first international roadtrip. Please wish me luck. I look forward to sharing my experience from this ride with all the fellow riders from xBhp.

You can find more information about my ride at http://www.tvsstarcityplus.com/tvsmotorun/Default.aspx

This is the route that I'll be taking

I hope I'll be able to do justice to this beautiful ride and also to the brand TVS & specifically TVS Star City+ for putting their trust in me and supporting and powering my ride.

Also sharing below some pictures of my ride which is all ready and raring to go..

    Hi guys,

Wow! This is massive and what a way to post introduction on xBhp!

Some people have already done this ride and I am sure many are planning to do, but attempting something so big on a commuter bike is really commendable. Hats off to you! All the best Arunabh! May your stars be with you and your Star City+.

Massive ride on a Star City+, approved.

Hi Arunabh, wishing you all the best from heart! I'm sure it'll be a lifetime experience for you.
I know you'll be having a very tight schedule but please let us know when you'll be in Kolkata. Also, your route includes the Sunderbans. If you have any query regarding that region, please feel free to contact me as I have managed to get some idea about the demography and routes in the Sundebans by touring in the region for the past 3 years.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

All the best. We are used to seeing 110 Bhp bikes do this, but this altogether on a different level and refreshing!
