    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Re: Round trip - 1230 kms. Chennai - Bangalore - Masinagudi - Ooty - Chennai.

Two months back, it was yet another boring morning at office, one of my friends (newly married, still in honeymoon mood) was planning for his third honey moon within 1 month, informed us about the two happy fridays in august (15th and 29th). As usual I planned the trip to kodaikanal, but my Boss showed a 'Take diversion' signal to Masinagudi. He has already been there and tried the exciting forest safari also. Krishna and Thiru were ok for the long ride but were busy on aug 15, finalised aug 29th.

The trip was almost confirmed and its shopping time. Last 2 years I was eyeing on the Black and Red SPARTAN HELIOS riding jacket, made up the mind and bought it, then a pair of pro-gear red gloves too. Now, the excitement was doubled.

If we start on 29th morning, we would be hardly having only one day of sight seeing, since we need to start our return journey on sunday morning itself. So, we decided to start on thursday (28th) late afternoon.

          Travel plan

Day 1 - Chennai to Bangalore
Day 2 - Bangalore to masinagudi
Day 3 - Masinagudi to ooty
Day 4 - Ooty to chennai

Next destination is masinagudi via mysore.Took enough cash since there are no ATMs at masinagudi. I started taking Videos using my mobile cam from NICE road. This is the holder (with small modification) that I used to fit my mobile around the handle bar. It was quite a best fit, yet for safety I stuck it using a brown tape.

While entering NICE road I saw two wheelers in queue paying TOLL. It was a shock to me, that too 36 rupees for a two wheeler. OMG. Why the hell man !! But it was totally deserving I will come all they way from chennai to ride on this at all possible occasions. It was a cloudy day, chill breeze, NICE road, no speed limits. What more can you ask for, on a DAY 2 to start with.

But it was very short, just after 10-15 kms, we were diverted out of the NICE road, and it was a slow moving traffic till mysore. Maintained a average speed of 70 kmph. Few snaps before reaching bandipur. There was slight drizzle in between.

It is showstopper time, yes the rain was heavy, unable to take video or foto once we entered bandipur forest. Was complete downpouring, no signs of any animal or a bird to come out to see us
. Felt unfortunate & crossed bandipur and entered mudumalai forest area. Personally, I think bandipur was maintained so well than mudumalai forest. Crossed theppakadu and reached masinagudi hotel around 3 p.m. The hotel was a bit deep inside forest where we cant ride our bikes. We were provided a place to park our bikes and had to take the hotel's jeep for another 1-2 kms.

. He was saying that few mins back a bear & bison was spotted which added more fear. all these excitement gone in 600 seconds
. Where ever we went we saw houses and cottages in between. It wasnt deep forest. We spotted only few dears and wild boar.

Few pics taken at the safari.

After reaching ooty, it was raining heavily and we had to drop the plans for the day. we dint visit Upper bavani, avalanche and the emerlad lake

                  Day 4 -

It was raining today also, yet we started our return to chennai. Rain stopped once we crossed Coonoor. then we took the Athur- > Ulundurpet route. the roads were awesome with elevated highways. the roads were not connected to any town in between. No Traffic, hassle free roads till ulundurpet.

Nice trip and the night safari is very dangerous especially if you are not accompanied by a forest guard.

Did the same circuit in Jan this year .
But stayed at mysore and it was a solo trip so no sight seeing just pure riding .
The hotel at masinagudi looks creepy and haunted to my eyes.
Can you share the hotel info ?

How was the experience dealing with speed breakers in the middle of flyovers (Avinashi to Salem)?

And more info about bikes performance ?

May be true, But to my experience, what we went was not a safari at al. It was night drive

Did the same circuit in Jan this year .

I believe, in terms of riding, I always prefer solo.. Totally independent. But sight-seeing would be really annoying without friends.

The hotel at masinagudi looks creepy and haunted to my eyes.
Can you share the hotel info ?

It should be haunting, thats why we all go to masinagudi.. The hotel we stayed is called De-rock, it was a excellent. The rooms were equaivalent to 3-star hotel. but, the best in business is "INN THE WILD" which is in very deep interior forest. you can get the real jungle stay expierience. try that if you are going again.

How was the experience dealing with speed breakers in the middle of flyovers (Avinashi to Salem)?

OMG.. !! How come these road authorities are so careless, without keeping any signboards for speed breakers. In fact i would say it was like small mountains & completely invisible. We were on a speed of 100- 120 kmph. I was able to identify correctly. . But my friend who was on the thunderbird narrowly escaped from the first speed breaker.

And more info about bikes performance

Thanks for bringing this question. I forgot to ask this question to the experts here. May be if i dont get answer here, will post in cbr 150r ownership expierience.
When i was riding from Chennai to bangalore. after some 150 kms ride, the engine became so tired. It was not at all crossing 100 at 6th gear even in full throttle, the rpm was not crossing 8k. I had to shift down and accelerate and bring up the rpm to more than 10k. then only it reached 100kmph. but it was fine the next morning. easily reached 130.

The same prob i felt after some 300 kms ride while returning from ooty. but after some rest the bike is fine. So, my question is - DOES BIKES ALSO GET TIRED.

                        ?

Nope bikes doesn't get tired to such extent refusing to cross 100 .
I have done 600+kms totally ripping in my old gen pulsar and there was no noticeable drop in performance.

Regarding chennai to blre the roads surface has to be blamed .chennai is 9m from sea level when blore is 900+m so there is continuous rise in elevation combined with less torque@low rpm machines you might have felt it.That is completely normal and happened the same with my bike too .
