    Day 3 : Goa - Pune

The day started late for us, checked out our lodge in Colva at around 12, where as checkout time was supposed to be 11 am. The owner was super cool and did not bother us at all. We packed up our things, loaded them on our machines and started off for Pune.

We decided to ride through "CHORLA GHAT" route as it was suggested by many. The ride was just too amazing and scenic through Chorla. Started scrapping foot pegs on those wonderfully laid corners.

From Belgaum onwards, it was the super smooth NH48 where majority of the time we maintained triple digits. The tunnels were an awesome experience too as we don't see tunnels around Hyderabad.

We were tired and I was drenched when we finally reached Pune. We had booked Oyo rooms in Chakan when we stopped by around Kolhapur ... as we were not sure whether we would get lodge late night.

The stay was awesome, very friendly staff and the owner personally contacted us as gave us directions. It was like a row-house rented out for Oyo, not like conventional lodges.

We had our dinner before we reached our lodge.

The plan for the next day was to first buy rain cover(from Decathlon) for my riding pants and then go explore Mashej and Matheran if possible.

      DAY 4 : Pune - Malshejghat

Our morning started a bit lazy and late at around 11am, we both rode on my bike as taking two different bikes was not very ideal for photography and coordination. The ride from our stay till Decathlon was one heck of a journey using google maps. The suburban roads around Pune are in horrible state, it took us over 1-2 hours to cover around 40 kms distance. To make things worse, it started to rain, stray traffic, one mess it was. It took me less than 60 seconds to buy the rain coat from Decathlon and then we left.

Boy oh boy, again those 50 - 60 kms for critically broken suburban roads. GPS was the only way out for us hence we kept following it. Finally we reached a place called "Narayangoan" after which the roads became decent. We had our lunch in a small road side hotel with a spectacular view in the backdrop. It kept raining cats and dogs all this while.

Then we proceeded towards Malshejghat and after that ... it was just heaven. I cannot explain in words the scenic beauty. We were mesmerised. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there clicking pics and videos.

It was 10 pm when we returned back to our room finally. Had a delicious dinner and went to bed.

PS : The photos could not do justice to the real scenes. Also I could hardly use my camera as it was heavily raining all the time.

Re: Go . Goa . Gone + Maharashtra ON

Good post and pictures, It is great to tour regions around Mumbai and Pune during rains, No particular destination, every thing looks so great, the greenery, water falls and lakes are just wow.
The only thing I could not understand is how you prefer night riding even when there are some advantages. Visibilty even in the mornings is less and the rains in maharashtra appears make it a bit dicey. I was really terrified when it became dark while riding back home from Nagarjuna sagar, untill I started tailing a Verna and an Innova just to keep those oncoming lights from blinding. But kudos for your adventure.

Thanks. Yes its true that the western part of Maharashtra is a treat during monsoons.

We prefer night rides due to the simple fact that there are lesser hassles in the darkness. Visibility is a big concern to majority of the bikers in India including us so we Run upgraded headlamps (high-end HID projector setup) and auxiliary lamps for better visibility and safety.

Although one lesson learned during this trip is that we should avoid night rides during monsoon.

Immediately I sat there listening to the music. Spent really some nice time listening to some of my favourite numbers : Hotel California, Careless Whispers etc.

The Lynx performing in LEDA .... one awesome band it is
The Keyboard player Fraser and Bass Guitarist Anthony also play in the Rock Band "Bad Blood". Vocalist Sandy sometimes also joins them.
