Loner(Jr.) goes to Binsar
Had been hearing a lot from two veteran bullet riders in office about the beauty Kumaon has to offer. (Uttarakhnad Himalayas are divided in to two regions, Kumaon and Garhwal.) Having covered most of the region of Garhwal in my earlier rides, the bug of seeing Kumaon has been biting me and robbing me of my sleep for quite a while now. So finally, the extended weekend proved to be the solace for the biker in me, and I hit the road on Friday, 3rd of April' 09 astride my Loner Jr. (Loner sr. is my blue P150 DTSI) to one of the most beautiful and scenic place called Binsar.... and I wasn't disappointed.Last edited by anshul uniyal; 04-07-2009, 12:53 AM.Tags: None

Topic Approved.
A big grin appeared on my face when I saw your topic on the Moderator Control Panel. One look and I knew I would get to see some god-awesome pictures. I opened the thread and the two trailer pictures just took my breath away!
Absolutely out of this world Anshul. More than the textual content, I am sure, like me, most of us here would be looking forward to some mouth watering and BRILLIANT shots from your film camera!
BRING IT ON!
P.S: You used film or digital, I am still wondering.

@Aryan: I shot these on my Nokia N-73. Was shooting on the manual mode and later on edited a bit. The phone has a quite a decent camera, will show you the results when we meet up. Have given the film rolls for development and scan. I will get the colour ones tomorrow, but will have to wait a bit for the B&w film.
@leon Nerd, @ken cool: Thanks, will upload a few tomorow.
@ Inder:P150 DTSI is my first bike. I got it in NOV 2004 so the title of Loner Sr.
My brother got the karizma in february this year. And this was my first long ride on it, and it truely lived up to its reputation.
@ Anup: I have wriitten detailed logs, so you don't worry. WIll be posting them as and when I get time.

Kumaon is beautiful, aint it? And Binsar offers some spectacular panoramic view from the rooftop of the KMVN Tourist Rest House.
Beautiful pictures, what about the trip log and some more pics?
Note: Binsar in monsoon is more magical than any other time of the year...tear the map and shoot the sign

@ Aryan: key to any good picture is the exposure be it digital or film. N73 has a 3.2 megapixel camera.
@Inder: There is a mode in the camera options called User defined, where in one can adjust the exposure, white balance and the ISO.
Dark side of the sun: I completely agree, kumaon is beautiful and is more greener then Garhwal. And Binsar would be more beautiful and picterusque after monsoon i.e. around october. There are more beautiful views from Zero point and if one walks along the ridge one can see the view of the whole valley. It's just that one has to explore the place.
Wil post the logs and more Pics after work.Last edited by anshul uniyal; 04-07-2009, 08:08 AM.
