      Day 1: Delhi-Gajraulla-Moradabad-Rampur-Haldwani-Bheemtal-Bhawali- Almora-Binsar
Total Distance covered: 401 kms; Good number of petrol pumps on the way.

My plan was to leave home by 5 amMoradabad. The highway is smooth beyond Gajraulla and I was able to cruise at 80-90 km/h with occasional speeds of 100-110 km/h.

After the Moradabad toll, I took right turn by mistake and got struck in a massive jam after Rampur.

After crossing Haldwani, I took Bheem Tal route for Almora. Mr. Khanduri has atleast ensured good roads in the state. Was leaning in and out of the curves and soon reached Bhawali, where I had my lunch.

From there I rode non-stop till Almora and Reached KMVN guest house, Binsar around 4pm.

      Costs incurred:
50rs. Breakfast; 130 rs. fuel; 63rs. Lunch; 40 rs. Entry fees to Binsar.

        Impotyant Information

        Important information:

There is a forest rest house 1km beyond the KMVN guest house which is let out for 750rs per day. One has to carry the ration and the caretaker will cook the meals for you or one can even have it in the KMVN guest house. The bookings for the Forest rest house are done from Ramnagar.

If you don’t get accommodation in Binsar, don’t loose your heart. You can stay in KMVN guest house in Danapani, which is 15 kms away from Almora on the Amora- Binsar road.

The cost of accommodation at KMVN Binsar is 1500rs which is inclusive of dinner, morning tea and breakfast.

These shots were taken on a film SLR.

awesome pics man.. waiting for more!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

If I could use that Banned 4 letter F word then I would have said it 398 times. The pics are awesome and after learning that few of them are coming from a Mobile Camera...I would take the HONOR of using the Banned 4 letter F word 173 times More.

                            Day 2

                            Day 2
                            Binsar- Almora bypass-Kosi- Ranikhet.
                            Total distance covered- 90-95 kms.

I left Binsar around 12:30 in the afternoon. The ride till Ranikhet was a pleasurable one. With the snow capped mountains on one side and Rhododendroums, pine and oak trees on the other. The roads were brilliant and was leaning in and out of turns. I stoppped a lot on the way for pictures and there were certain points where i just stopped loner and lied down in the grass looking the view that was there to offer. Must say the stretch after crossing kosi is simply breath taking. I couldn't help stopping and staring at the view.

Ranikhet is home to Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army. The town is beautiful and has a lot of old colonial bunglows and churches, wihich have been taken over either by the army or hotels.

Cost incurred: 1500 (binsar accomodation); 35 lunch.

                            Imprtant information:
The entrannce to the town has an army golf course, so be careful of falling balls.

                              Hey, some more great photographs.

And it was great catching up. Lets do it once more... or lets say, as much as we can... over a longer distance... a thousand kilometres sound interesting?

@DCS- Thanks. Well, instead of the four letter word you can just say WOW!!!

@Archi Star: have put in some of the B&W stuff as well this time.

@Inder cool: In some of the pictures i have used filters while shooting for the desired effects. And yes have edited a bit on the photodhop as while scaning film negatives to CD there is a considerable amount of loss in quality and colours.
