Vaibhav, that's very true. you can check it yourself the next time we meet. lol...OMG....how come we are talking such SH!TTY things on xbhp.

anyways, on a serious note, a 5-7 minute of suta break relaxes you and the steed too. but please, am not PROMOTING smoking....... so, its better to stop for 5-7 minutes after 2-3 hours of ride to ease the muscles and the mind too, not to forget our work horses. well, but then again, its my say on it, readers discreation is whole heartedly welcomed.!!

Oh, I take longer breaks than that. After 3 hours I take a clean break of 15 minutes. I have to. Every 3 hours I run out of gas. Hence I fill in the tank, relax my bladder and then fill it up as well, pay the guy, and that takes a good 15 minutes.

Dear Ken, I know how thirsty your wonderful steed feels after a run of 2-3 hours, well, at least on that front I am satisfied that my Horse wonderfully does close to 500 kms before its bladder goes empty, which again is somewhat close to my riding appetite and capability is. But 15 minutes of break...well, its all case sensitive. the central idea is to relax, and enjoy what you are doing, unless you are attempting something of a saddle sore/IBA.

I wonder how would you feel if you were to ride a CD 100SS, one tank full goes close to 600-700kms, and if you take a break only when you have to fill up your bike's tank then CD 100 SS types can be a real pain ON the @$$!! lol again.

Oh yes you are right! It did not occur to me. Even my Pulsar goes close to 700kms on a full tank. But I have never really toured with my Pulsar. But yes, as a rule of thumb, or nearly so, I try to stop 2-3 hours in the plains and more often in the hills.
