Prologue

Somebody said it right - Life is an adventure - Dare it!

Every time when we plan a new ride there is some different kind of adrenaline current in every bones and joints of our body.. I mean literally when we came back from our South ride which was done in March 2017 we were happy but not content and because we were not so content we planned multiple short rides to fulfill our soul but somehow somewhere something was still missing..

In meantime Sachin also sold his Mahindra Mojo and bought Honda CBR250r Repsol Edition because he was fed up with his Mojo brake thing and many other smaller but significant issues and also because he was too jealous of me and Abs of my bike..haha..in fact the way we tour which is so frequent we wanted a reliable and stress-free bike...

Whatever the reason was I was happy because now we both ride Honda CBR 250r Repsol..Wuhuu!!

After Sachin’s new bike which came in action just a month after our South ride he was so restless to burn those tyres that one day finally he spoke his heart out and our conversation went something like this -

Sachin - (in overacting manner) Damn yar, I can’t concentrate on work..I don’t want to go to office, I don’t want to do this household work and routine stuffs I am tired...

Kiran - Why? What’s wrong? What you want to do? Office tho jana padega <Do we have any option, you have to go to work baby>

Sachin - Ya I know.. (In slow voice) But I want to go Riding..

Kiran - (Surprised) Yaar abi tho south Gaye theh and then Mahabaleshwar - (recently we did south and Mahableshwar)

Sachin - ok fine let’s make a deal next 2 months we won’t go anywhere, we will save and go for some long ride in July..how about this now?

    Kiran - Barish mein - Kahan...?? <In rains? Where?>

    Sachin – (Smiling) GUESS?

    ******

We love mountains.. We just love mountains and that was exactly why we were not content with our south ride..

Obviously Mountains are calling us after 2 years and we must GO

2 years back in 2015 we completed our Ladakh ride and now it was again time for some offroads, Muds, gravels, steep roads, water crossing and some snow leopards...

Yes you guessed it right it is none other than “The Mighty Spiti". We did Ladakh when we were so amateur, of course it was my 1st ride on my bike and errors were bound to happen, at that time we just packed up and left with not so good quality helmets, gears even the saddle bags...Our Ladakh ride was full of mistakes and only mistakes. So what even after so many barrier we completed our ride exactly according the route we planned J All thanks to Sachin if he would have denied my offer of riding my own bike to Leh I would have never gathered courage to ride anywhere else. In Short DON’T THINK MUCH. JUST GO FOR IT! EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT.

Now after 2 years when we look back to those days we feel so nostalgic and awesome, the way we have grown by every passing days, holding each other in every ups and downs of our riding career is something I appreciateJ <Self-Appreciation is important>

Going back to those terrain from where we started when I had literally zero knowledge of riding uphill, handling bike and those single lane. Damn that feeling cannot be expressed through writing or telling or whatsoever. It just feels great, in fact more than great…This is the Adrenaline current we were looking for…

After 2 years here we are – little more Experienced, more confident with super awesome bikes and all branded gears of course we have rode to Rajasthan, ladakh, few parts of South India, North east, Nanital-Agra and multipleeeeee short rides but every ride seems to be more special in their own means and so is this one J

Another big news is we are not going to ride our bikes for this ride. Hold on hold on WHAT? Yes you heard it right - so which bike are we going to ride? Well for all the answers and LIVE updates and route updates you gotta stay tuned to our Instagram and facebook page and also our YouTube channel for some awesome Spiti videos all the links are mentioned below, and of course we will give full download here after we finish the ride.

Last but not the least a big thank you to xBhp and SpartanProGears for supporting this ride yet again. There are few more names that needs to be added here which will be done shortly once we reveal few more things and kick start our ride J

All the preparations is done and dusted and we are all set to Wroom on shiny gravels of “The Himalayas” Anxiety, Excitement, Enthusiasm, eagerness, that intensity of fire is increasing by every passing day because ladies and gentlemen the ride is about to get started

Live like there is no tomorrow! Constantly move forward and appreciate the motivation for your existence! It has cause! It has meaning! It has reason! Never give up and never look back! Choose to make a meaningful difference in your life and the life of others. Do it every day and DO IT BIG!!!

Re: Prowl of two adventurous Spirits to SPITI

                    CHAPTER 1 - “DAY 1”

                    “First Day First Tragedy”

                    Day1 (Sat) – 22nd July 2017

                    Route - Mumbai-Delhi (By Flight)

Tragedy and wewalk together, I mean seriously we are one such kind that Show me a hero andI'll write you a tragedy, seeing our reflection in a mirror and I can write abook of tragedy for you. But again the memories and stories are always madewith “THE TRAGEDIES”.

To avoid steppingin tragedy we started packing our stuffs at least 3 days before our planned rideday which was on 22nd July (Saturday) and for a change we were allset with all our stuffs around 9.00 p.m. sharp on Friday we thought to book Uberthe night before, since we wanted to avoid the last minute rush and also becausewe had an early morning flight from Mumbai-Delhi, but who knew that tragedy andwe go hand in hand. Our Uber driver didn’t turn up at the last minute.

We were forcedto do all unexpected rush at the last moment, rebooked another Uber and fortunatelywe saved our flight. In short never book a Uber in advance they are unreliable.

While checkingin airport the securities checked every damn corner of our cabin bag especiallyour camera and gadgets bag <Well we don’t look like a criminal or DO we? After 3 hours when we stepped out of Delhi airport our Facebook Friend namedAkshay Jain came to meet us, receive us and drop us to our next destination“Yamaha Showroom in Noida”

Yes you guessed it right we did not ride our bikes forSpiti we were supposed to get the bikes from Yamaha from where we were about tokick start our Spiti Ride.

Travelling allows you to make so many friends from somany different places, seriously we are fortunate enough to meet such bikerbuddies who are a good human being and good people to hang around and share ourexperiences and hear theirs. Akshay Jain was one such rider buddy whom we metin Delhi, he woke up at 5.30 a.m. just to receive us from airport at 7.30 a.m.who does all this for somebody whom he had been knowing only through FaceBook J

We reached Yamaha Show room in Noida and completed somepaper work formalities and got 2 bikes black and blue, obviously I opted forblue because that’s being my favorite color (Come on I am a Girl colour mattersfor me :P). We were impatient and equally excited to swing our legs over thesaddle bag and hear those lovely music of engine and feel some fresh breeze. Nomatter how tired we were travelling and gusting whole morning but riding bikegives you some thrilling flow in every organs of your body.

Yes you guessed it right FZ25 it isJ... if you ask me to explain this bike in 2 words it will be “Absolutely gorgeous” andadded flavor to this was the bike was extremely light weighted at least when wecompare it with CBR250R which we own.

We collected our bike and proceeded towards xBhpheadquarters from where on we were supposed to start our ride and reach Shimla.Which eventually didn’t happen.

It took us 1 and a half hour to search xBhp HQ but nodoubt we met some funny people and kids on the way while searching the correct route.

Like the one I recollect the funniest situation of theday - we were literally exhausted while searching the exact way to xBhp soSachin asked me to stop in a corner of road while he would call somebody fromxBhp and get the correct route we were standing at the gate of “Moksh Dham”<Graveyard> when 2 kids came running towards us screaming “Ye bhoot logkaun ha” <what kind of ghost are they?> since we were on with our ridinggears might be that would be the thing that made them thinking . One kid outof few even started weeping since he thought that we are the real ghosts...damnwe scared the hell out of the kids. We quickly rushed off the spot because we werein no mood to get crushed by the localities out there.

Somehow finding the way we reached xBhp and met somesuper creative people out there with loads of bike related chat which followedwith lunch, photos etc etc It was already 2.00 p.m. and starting our ride solate would have done no good to us we anyways wouldn’t have reached Shimla.

So we decided to stay in Delhi and start our ride thenext day i.e. on Sunday early morning. We were also supposed to join xBhp forthe morning ride for approximately 30-40 kms around Delhi-Ghaziabad highway andthen back to our plan...

After spending a rainy evening in Delhi with hotcappuccino coffee we called it a day...

Stay tuned!! Day2 is going to be big because we are about to Wroom start our dream ride to “THESPITI VALLEY”

Selfie toh banti ha, while boarding starts!

                    Breakfast in Spice Mall, Noida

                    Some more selfies!

                    Thoda aur khate ha :P

Aakshay on the left and Naddy on the right who is also from Noida!

This is the biggest step Sachin took in his life and handed over keys to me and I am glad he did, I will always be thankful to him!

We are gonna ride well and ride safe, and watch each other's back!

                          CHAPTER 2 - “DAY 2”

                          “Rain, Rain Go Away!!”

                          Day1 (Sat) – 23rd July 2017

Route - Delhi - Faridabad Highway - Dhaula Kua - Panipat - Ambala - Zirakpur -Enroute Shimla – Solan

                          Kms – 380

Finally our ride was about to get started, so obviously we were full of anxiety and excitement hence despite of tiring Day 1 we woke up before our alarm could start roaring in our ears.

Before starting the ride we thought to make a checklist which we normally make, almost for all our critical rides hence we followed the trend and made a checklist of all the important items. One by one as we completed the packing of the stuffs somebody amongst us strike out the item from list so in that case at the end the list looks all strike out kinda with no left over stuff to carry. But what we normally do being a human being we forget to add some minute yet essential material in our Checklist because we assume that those tiny thing is somewhere fixed in our unconscious mind and forgetting those things is an impossible task but we forget that overall we are a HUMAN BEING.

I literally wrapped the toothbrush & tooth Paste in a foil and kept in a pouch but somehow that pouch didn’t go in our back pack or else you can say that we forgot to keep it in our back pack :P and this shocking realization happened to us at 5.30 in the morning when Delhi was all closed with no chemist or any shops open. Now what, so without wasting much time in arguing and blaming each other we had a couple of mint chewing gums and proceeded ahead. We are human beings and mistakes on such a big ride is tend to happen and its ok you shouldn’t be stuck

We were loading our luggage on our bikes for the first time so we were bit nervous because we bought a completely new set of baggage gear from Dirtsack GYPSY Saddle Bag” and “DIRTSACK” Frogman tailbag and Tank bag from “RoadGods” Since Sachin and I ride CBR250R so we anyways wanted to get a new set of luggage system for our bikes. Luckily the same saddle bag were apt for YAMAHA FZ25 too.

Sachin took good 30-40 minutes to load all the luggage, initially he was bit skeptical about the luggage thing but then everything just got perfectly fit at its assigned place.

At around 7.30 we started our ride with divine Darshan of Hanumanji . Thanks to Sunny who took us there before starting the most adventurous ride of our life “Faridabad” highway was undoubtedly awesome. We had our quick breakfast at “Throttle Shrottle” which is a biker’s café near that Hanuman ji Statue at Faridabad highway and then we took a final signoff from xBhp team and proceeded with our ride further.
“Delhi to Ambala” highway is awesome, 250 kms of butter smooth 4 lane highway made us Wroom on 100 plus kmph continuously but again Delhi was hot as usual we were forced to take couple of juice breaks to keep our body hydrated and energized because soon we were about to hit the single lane roads.

Around 4.30 we took a lunch break where we just ordered a sandwich and omelet, bread and kadak chai ki piyali to refresh us. It was one scenic place to treat your eyes with and delicious food to treat your tummy in short every organs of your body is exultant.

We are so thankful to our bikes because it allows us to travel and see new places and meet new people and also to make so many new friends while you are away from your homeJ. Like always we were busy vlogging, clicking and talking to each other when there were few Delhi boys who started asking about us, bikes and about our rides. One of the guy he even sung a beautiful Punjabi song for us and later on the similar spot we met a newly married Punjabi couple whom we started chatting with. Different people, Different culture, different thoughts, different experiences.

When you talk you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new. When you are out travelling try listening to others without replying them much until and unless they questions you anything. In this case you will learn many things while you travel.

After completing with our food soon we were welcomed by single lane broken roads with huge traffic stream to reach Shimla. It was Sunday what can you expect? We stopped at couple of places to click and enjoy the moment of being in mountains but soon our happiness and enjoyment turned into nightmare when we saw black dark clouds covering us from all over. We thought to reach Kufri before dusk but forget Kufri we were still 100 kms away from Shimla.

We were just anticipating a minor drizzle so we unpacked our rain coats and took it over, we also covered all our luggage, but as we proceeded further it started pouring heavily seems like rain god was waiting for years to welcome us. But again we cannot be angry on rains, it simply does not know how to fall upwards

In a very short time water was logged all over the roads so we thought to take a quick shelter in a shop which basically was a garage and bike, cars gadgets shop. A heartfelt thank you to the gentlemen who helped us with a plastic tape from which we shielded our Bluetooth device. They also gave us some plastic covers to cover our shoes.

We were not prepared at all in fact to remove the smallest thing we had to unpack the entire stuffs and It was just 1st day of riding and in spite of having each and every material with us including the shoes cover we were stuck in middle of rain which was unexpected tragedy. The local guys said that it’s just the 1st day of rains, too UNLUCKY WE!!

Riding in rain for more 100 kms that to in dusk – not a good combination hence we decided to stay in Solan and leave early the next day and try to cover up the distance on Day 2.

We got a normal stay for 1200 bucks but the most needed shelter at that rainy night at around 9.30 p.m. Yes we were disappointed of running behind the schedule but that is how riding is all about.

We had the delicious dinner of butter roti, mix vegetable, Dal tadka, Jeera rice and also the Gulab jamun to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Sachin applied some foam to our helmet visors to relief ourselves with the foggy weather. It’s a trick everybody can use where the fog doesn’t settles on the wiser making you blind after applying foam and believe me it does help.

Do we get in schedule on DAY 3 Stay tuned!!

Lovely photos as always...although I would be a bit skeptical to ride such terrain and distances on an unknown bike, you guys went ahead with it...thats quite brave...and Noida and spice mall made me realize that you guys weren't far from where i was at that time...anyways would like to say hello in person next time you are here...waiting for the updates for now...reading these in the middle of the ocean as I am sailing presently
