you cannot average 80 kmph buddy....trust me on that. You will need about 22-25 hours to reach bombay as you are riding solo.Reason being tht you will need to take atleast 2 breaks of about 2 hours each because of fatigue..Also it is advisable to take a 15 min break after every 150-200 kms.

Yes, even a distance of 50 kms from Pune to Lonavla can't be completed
in one hour (on old highway, on a bike), even you try to keep the speed
high. It's takes about one and a half hour without risking your life.

So the speed can't be maintained at 80 km/hr avg.
Since you are on a bike, be it even a high end bike, you still are
a lowly creature on the highways and truck people don't take you into
acccount. So you have to be very careful, that's why avg speed
can't be maintained at 80 km/hr without risking your life.

Even though the bike can average 80-90 easily, our road & traffic
conditions won't allow you to do that. Better take break at the night
      at some hotel.

The map seems logical, though I am doubtful about the distance being 700
odd kms. These stops do come while you travel by train.

Yes techno, I agree it can be done, but it is a bit risky. The bike
can do it, but the roads at times don't permit, due to those trucks
and rash driving by lal dabbas (ST buses). Even I have done that
in just a little over an hour, but I felt it was risky.

Hmmm .. ok maybe averaging 80kms/hr is not so possible thanks to the roads. Just striking up a conver. I did Bombay - Goa and back in the year 2002 on a Kawasaki 4S Champion.. and it was a great journey .. one of the best roads and i stopped after every hour cause my ass couldnt take the seat any more than an hour. switched off the engine .. had half a ciggi and then back again. Left at 4am and got to Baga at 8pm in the nite.. even though i was doing 60-80kms/hr, so u stand true prateekkual :-) Of course the truks and buses ****ed it up for me sometimes but oeverall the journey was cool and i look forward to one more loong ride soon.
AH not to forget .. LOVEMAX i love your attitude man .. but unfortunately doesnt work in the real world !!

yes Sir i can .. thank you so much for your concern.. but if you have noticed this forum has some wrong links to some wrong places ... messages do tend to get jumbled up. The last time i replied to someones post and it showed up somewhere else.. so dont blame me dude.. ASP sucks anyways. btw i like your observation

I hope you ride safe man... Dont take this personally man but rash street riding isnt something that one should be proud of.. Its a diff story if its late in the night and the roads are empty (Which I'm hoping is when you did this)If you wanna earn a medal, do something good instead of breaking the law... and in the unlikely situation that you do earn a medal for rash riding, keep your fingers crossed that when the president comes over, you'll atleast have a neck to hang it on...

I am riding safe man .. thanks for your concern, this really is rare!! I appreciate it. About rash riding i really do not indulge in this and wouldnt ask anyone too. Did this "feat" about a year back not to be repeated again. Night riding is safe but has its pros and cons too .. anyways i dont need no medal, was just kidding about that if you notice :-)
Thanks for your concern once again. Wish you happy riding!!
