Still Five gears left???? Just imagine the look on their face if you would have showed them what was the bike capable of doing, they wont have got a chance to see you past 3 seconds.

Ken, very serious note, if it would not have been for Google, i would have stopped reading your posts. The words that you use...Man they are a complete bouncer.l I had to goggle to find out that

            Adjective

            • S: (adj) antediluvian, antediluvial (of or relating to the period before the biblical flood) "antediluvian man"
            • S: (adj) antediluvian, antiquated, archaic (so extremely old as seeming to belong to an earlier period) "a ramshackle antediluvian tenement"; "antediluvian ideas"; "archaic laws".

wonderfully though, I still could not understand the meaning of "patriarchs".

anyways, I loved that part where you drank fresh water straight from the well.
I don't know, lot of us would find it insane but I just love drinking the water coming from a fresh stream or river or ice melt. On my Trip to Leh and to Kaza, I never bought a bottle of water, instead I filled it up from the flowing streams. It may not be very sensible as the water might not be too clean but I guess its OK to Do what one feels like , every once in a while.

P.s: you scared the (beep) out of me!!

Basically "antediluvian" refers to anything before the mythical Noachian deluge. Deluge = Diluvian, similar roots and the prefix ante referring to before. Basically meaning something old and in a ramshackle state. Patriarch as opposed to the matriarch. We live in Patriarchal societies, where the MAN is the ruler of the family, he decides, economics, social structures, family structures etc. Everybody has to follow according to the statutes of the Patriarch. There are very few Matriarchal societies in the world where women rule or have a major say in those societies. There are a couple of Matriarchal tribes in Meghalaya... very few en sub-saharan Africa... anyways... I will not bore you with such stuff; you get the idea.

As far as water is concerned, if you are pretty high, you can drink fresh water as long as you know that some Indians have not pissed into it upstream and hope that you do not get amoebiasis which can happen at lower altitudes! It is NOT advisable to drink melted ice. That is distilled water and it can be harmful since there are no minerals in it. Melted ice should go through layers of sedimentary rock to take on some minerals and then that fresh water is REAL good!

LOVED this part, simply because I can relate to this time and again. I show the cops my Defence ID card and they show SO much respect that I myself feel shy, at times!

Ask him the route to ANY PVR in this country and probably he can guide anyone better than he can guide someone to a "particular" destination.

I did not know you had a Defence ICard. Next time lets have a drag session at the G2G! If the cops come, you can whip out your Card!

As for those roads, they are simply divine!

I did not take off like a maniac like I usually do as the police Mahindra was barely a few hundred metres ahead of me and all those Police goons were peering out from the back of their antediluvian vehicle that could barely do 65 with the pedal going through the floor! They were still peering at us as we passed them very sedately at 80 kmph and I behaved as if I was really struggling with my bike. They did not know that I still had 5 gears left!!! Har har har de har!
Laughed my guts out for this one and about the rubber. Damn, your logs have an added humor in them unlike all your other logs, and I'm LOVING IT! (I pray to god that he makes you sleep walk to your computer and continue with the logs with an excuse of Somnambulism)
