Yup ken cool, quite unbelievable, but have to adapt according to situations, right? Generally, people dont travel that route during the night and even night-supers (The big buses) get waylaid & looted frequently. It was just the biking spirit that kept us moving. And as far as i am concerned, when i'm on my bike, time and distance loses its meaning. That is passion! he he he...
Anyway, am hoping to put up the writeup of our 2nd day and 3rd day pics tomorrow. Just hope that wont be too busy for that.
Your comments and opinions are very much appreciated!
Have a Wonderful evening dude!sigpic

It was one of these Biker's bridge that left my FZ skidding at nightOriginally posted by pads View PostEven the bridge is biker's Dream Bridge.......
... Very Unreliable surface, especially the log placed over each other. At times, some portion of the wooden bridge would be missing, or rotten.
But sure, its different experience altogether
. Enjoyed every pot holes, every water crossing and every mud on my pants and shoes....

Hi
A few questions about the routes.
Isn't Williamsnagar better approached from the Damra - Baghmara (NH62) side than from Tura? If so, why did you choose the Tura approach?
Do you know the condition of the Agia - Tura route?
How long do you think it will take to do a NH51 - NH62 loop?
Thanks
OGH

@ OldGearHead...
Yes, the NH-62 is much shorter than the NH-51 route for proceeding towards Williamnagar. But, the road condition is very BAD that side. That was the road we took by mistake while returning from Siju. The 12 KMs that we travelled on that road was horrible and with lots of Coal laden trucks plying on that route, riding, especially at night could be a nightmare.
And time taken for doing the 51-62 loop would be bout 6-8 hours (Approx).
Hope this solve you query!
And thanks for asking! ;-)sigpic

Hi

The whole loop till Baghmara? Seems optimistic.
There used to be a "road" from Agia to Baghmara essentially following the Bangladesh border. With a turnoff for Tura. Do these still exist? Suggestion for your next adventure!

Hi OGH. Well, the 51-62 loop does not include Baghmara. As far as i understand, the Baghmara route is not a NH.
As for the Agia road, am not so sure. Although, i think i've been on that road long time back, from Baghmara to the turnoff to Tura. Might include that road on our next trip sometime this year.
Btw, may i know where you are from OGH? Seems you are somewhere close by! lol...
Ciao...sigpic

Well, the GoI website lists Dalu as the other point for both NH51 and NH62.Originally posted by Dragon View PostHi OGH. Well, the 51-62 loop does not include Baghmara. As far as i understand, the Baghmara route is not a NH.
And Baghmara is on NH62.
Across the river, in the plains! Actually don't stay there. Lower Assam, north bank is in my beat.Originally posted by Dragon View PostBtw, may i know where you are from OGH? Seems you are somewhere close by! lol...
Ciao...
Even more than the road, always wanted to float down the river from Dibrugarh to Dhubri, carrying a motorcycle with me for shore exploration.

Hello OGH! Sorry for the delay in replying. Been a bit too Busy nowadays. Anyway, if you include Baghmara on the loop, it would take another 8 Hours approx, depending upon the season that you do the trip.
Some of the xBhp guys from here are planning on yet another longer & wider trip, sometimes during the month of September-October. You are most welcome to join us on the trip and you can always join in anywhere in between.
As for floating down a river, thats my dream too (bike included) ... lol... Lets see if we can do a g2g in the near future.sigpic
