    Preparing for Studies - Ride to Rohtang....

    This had to happen !! Rohtang had been causing me lot of trouble in last two months.... On every discussion related to bike & ride, Rohtang was something I kept pondering over.
    I did Chhail, Shimla & even a dash to Jaipur just to satiate my hunger for ride thinking that Rohtang would be done enroute Leh next year.

    But sometimes enough is enough.... I couldn't hold it anymore and decided to go. Kunjal confirmed his company at the death hour & we hit the road on 25th June at 0400 hrs.

    Some pics for now... Log & more pics coming up !!!

        You can count on Kunjal for being almost unpredictable!!!
        Heard from few of my mates that he slowly and gradually has started behaving in a Sane manner.
        OK, jokes apart, bring on the pics and the log, though the weather in Delhi is pleasant today, not as hot as few days back but we seem to just cant have enough of Snow....

        @ Abhishek: You own a pulsar, don't you? and I see an Avenger here....now don't tell me that you """MODIFIED""" yor Pulsar to an Avenger.
        Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

        Save the Tigers! Only 1411 (excluding ME) are left!

              thanks Abhishek for posting this thread....plz keep pics and logs flowing in this thread.I will not be able to use net services for next few days because My laptop is gone to service center as my cousin broken its Screen when i was on trip...So i will try to upload pics as soon as possible.

              @ Sunnny Sir actually abhishek is moving to lucknow to continue his studies so before moving to lucknow he wanted to set his mind towards studies and from a long time he was planning to do rohtang..so we planned up this trip.Now he will better concentrate on his studies..

                    Yes brothers....nice teaser out there..... and Abhishek I am glad that you have decided to throw a log with pics and write up for your this ride.... Though I know you keep moving but its good to see you rides.

                    Kunjal yeah your hybrid looks super cool with moutains as background bro... I know you guys would have had a blast their... and knowing you yeah I know you wanted to do it before getting a job

                    Now dont keep us waiting more and drop the pics and the write up and also let us know if the avenger and the hybrid faced any problem???

                      Bhai, Avenger belongs to one of my friend. He actually asked me to take his Avy for a long ride since it has done only Mussorie till date.

                          The LOG !!

                          Riders: Kunjal Singh & Abhishek2433
                          Bikes: Hybrid CBZ & Avenger 200

                          I had this wish of doing Rohtang before I leave for Lucknow. Somehow or the other things weren't falling in place & I did Shimla, Chhail, etc. (all solo) to compensate for it. I kept curbing my instinct reasoning that Rohtang will be done enroute Leh.
                          Everything fine but 'woh keeda shant hi nahin ho raha tha'..... what to do??
                          Finally, I had enough & made my mind to do it. Kunjal had expressed his interest earlier and he joined on asking at last moment.
                          25th June, 2009 at 0400 hrs. We both met at bus stop right after ITO flyover and started.

                          DAY 1
                          Frankly, morning rides are my favourite. We both were cruising nicely maintaining 75-85 kmph; I never cross those speeds. Our destination for the day was Manali. First small stop at Murthal for tea & next stop some 20 kms before Ropar. We covered 240 kms in one go.
                          Breakfast time, updates to friends... dhaba wala took 1 hr to serve us two paranthas.
                          Thereon the route is expicit to all; just for the sake of it Ropar - Kiratput - Bilaspur - Kullu - Manali. We had enough time to cover it & so took our time.... Avenger was showing its color. Long turning radius meant slowing down on every curve & Kunjal getting out if sight in seconds. Poor chap had to wait numerous times for me to catch up.... I appreciate your patience brother !! It was hot even in hills but we didn't want to stop. It was common sight of bikers from nook and corner of country, all going to ultimate destination.... LEH.
                          It was first time I was going to Manali so was took a halt at every possible opportunity of snap. Here are some.....

                          We reached Kullu by 5 pm. It was time to feed our stomach before we also started drinking petrol.
                          A funny incident here - We met some people going to Manikaran Sahib. They had super powerful bikes (PLATINA) carrying pillion, bags. They were amazed to find that we covered more than 500 kms since morning whereas they could hardly do 300 kms.
                          One guy actually started singing, "Ganpati Bappa Moriya" on seeing Hybrid CBZ. He even tried his best to sit inside the engine of Avy200. They bombarded us with queries of all kinds in pure Punjabi and we both were trying our best to answer them as correctly as possible.

                          Reached Manali by 7 pm. We met a nice man who helped us booking a nice hotel in Old Manali at reasonable price. So all tension for finding a hotel, paying exorbitant price, etc. evaporated. Checked in... retired for the day.

                          Riders performed well. Bikes performed better.
