Day 3
After Rohtang & television till 02:00 am, I managed to get up at 06:00 am. For first time in my life I found movie Baazigar to be hilarious. The way SRK used to speak then.... kkkkkkKiran
Coming back to our ride - I was interested in visiting Vashist temple whereas Kunjal was interested in snoring. No problems brother, I went alone. Morning was cool & I was enjoying the wind patting my face. I'd confess that I rode without a lid for first 2 kms and got it on my head when I reached market of New Manali. Vashisht is hardly 3 kms from the city known for hot water spring.
It is believed that every sort of disease or physical ailment can be cured after taking bath in the 'Kund'.
I didn't try though... who will cure the girls when they see me bathing
An individual photo session was the need of the hour & needful was done. Located an Army convoy while returning and took its pic by obtaining permission from the Officers. It was good to see Army guys having fun - I enjoyed that moment.
Back to hotel at 08:30 am and we were off to Chandigarh by 10 am. While coming to Manali I had seen restaurant by the side of river and was hell bent on having breakfast there.... this time Kunjal obliged or I'd have been forced to treat him the rough way. We stayed there for more than a hour, water was freezing cold.... I like walking in the water so did the same & jumped back instantly before my feet would have gone numb. Coming down was a speedy process with only two breaks.
The Aartiwala met again - This time I was leading and Kunjal patiently followed though I was maintaining good speed now. Just before Bilaspur the same guy who took CBZ's aarti met Kunjal. He requested Kunjal to let him come pillion for some kms. I was well ahead and was waiting at a dhaba. Kunjal showed his leaning mastery to the gut on turns and Paaji was scared for his life. His face carried a million dollar horror expression when he got off the seat and sat on the chair.... trying to balance his mind and heart.
I was enjoying it, Kunjal was enjoying it & Paaji was coming to terms with reality !!
It was 4 pm and we wanted to reach Chandigarh before 8 pm. No more stops.... straight dash to Kiratpur, then to Kharar, then to Ambala giving a miss to Zirakpur. We finally took dinner stop at a dhaba some 7kms after Ambala.
We were satisfied with out progress till now and were two minds about moving further; either to reach Delhi in night and come for G2G in morning or stay somewhere and head to Karnal for G2G. We tried to reason it out but mind was not working and rats were having a cross-country run in my stomach, marathon in Kunjal's.
"Khana khalo fir dekhenge kya karna hai", I suggested and he agreed. Hogged on food like maniacs, the man serving us carried some funny expression but who cares?? Khaye jao, khaye jao....
We decided to stay at dhaba for the night and head to Karnal for G2G in morning since it didn't make sense to our tired souls to ride in night and come back the same way.
Out for the third and final day by 11:30 pm.... trip ended on a good note!!
Woke up at 05:00 am the next day and reached Jhilmil dhaba by 06:00am.
Trip ends informally.... experience was amazing.... Kunjal's company was amazing.... Rohtang was awesome !! Now will leave for Lucknow soon and finally fully geared up for studies for next six months. Wish me Luck in exams !!
@Kunjal - It was great riding with you brother. You are good rider and thanks for being patient with me. I ride slow & Avenger made it slower. I appreciate your regular stops to wait for me and ensuring that I don't feel riding solo at any point of time.
Having said that I'd also like you to add your inputs about the trip in your words. I'm waiting and if they don't come soon.... than you know I've enough strength (you understand what I mean!!).
@DCS & Kurt - Many thanks for your guidance about the route. It proved helpful.

Yup! That is called a formation jam!
@Abhishek & Kunjal: Great triplog and equally good pictures, I must say.
Good thing you guys completed the ride without any incident (so to say).
@Abhishek: All the best for your studies, and I hope you do come back to Delhi after your studies are completed. I would need you to pose with Rohit (RohitMundra) in the G2Gs. My camera will miss you,for sure.

Interesting reading through your log. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed reading it. And finally did not take a dip in the Kund. Whenever I go in those places, I normally avoid Manali and I stay at Vashist. I find it more pleasant staying there in a hotel overlooking the famed Beas river!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
