The last time I visited was on 28 June 2009.
Distance covered: 341 km
Actually, I didn’t plan for this ride, it just happened. We were supposed to have a xBhp g2g to meet B2L(xBhp id: born2lead) who had come here from Delhi. I woke up at 5 am got ready. Reached the meeting spot at 6 am. Everyone came in one by one. We had a nice chat as we were meeting after a long time. We chatted for around 3 hours until everyone felt hungry and decided to have breakfast at Paradise. We had kheema roti with soft drinks. After that we had tea with osmania biscuits and samosas. It was 10:30 am by now so every one decided to leave, but I wanted to do some touring so I proceeded with my plan. I was thinking where should I ride to and finally decided to go on the repaired NH 9.
I started for the highway with my friend. Reached the highway around 11 am. After a few km there was a toll gate. Thankfully they didn’t charge bikes. The road from here on was newly laid and was butter smooth with not even a single pothole. I twisted my wrist and in no time I was at 90 km/h. I could easily maintain this speed throughout. Managed to touch 100 km/h on the slopes. The weather was superb so I kept moving on. I didn’t plan any destination and was just riding on. Crossed Sangareddy, Zaheerabad and thought of riding to Karnataka. So I took a right turn from the NH 9 for Bidar. Reached Bidar, which is around 130 km from Hyderabad at 12:30 pm. Went to the Bidar fort. There was a nice well-maintained garden inside. We also found a huge cannon. The interesting thing about it was that a person could fit in. We tried being the human cannon ball. Spent some time there, clicked snaps, did some off-roading and headed for lunch. Had lunch and started back for Hyderabad. It was 2:30 pm by now.
My friend wanted to reach home early as he didn’t sleep last night, so we had to rush back to Hyderabad. Reached Hyderabad at 4 pm. Dropped him at his home and I was going back to my home. On the way, my camera fell from the tank pouch, right in the middle of a busy road(Banjara hills Rd. No. 1). I didn’t notice that the camera fell but felt something hitting my shoe. I immediately pulled over, checked the tank pouch and realised that my camera fell on the road. Came back to pick the camera. Luckily one guy on a passion plus picked it up. He handed me the camera, I thanked him for saving my camera. The camera had scratches all over it, I checked if it was working or not. I was happy to see that the camera was working fine inspite of the bad fall. Put the camera in my pocket and came back home. Didn’t tell anyone about the camera. Thus ended my trip on a good and bad note. Bad because my beloved camera had got scratches all over it, good because it was working fine.
