FIRST OF ALL THANKS TO ALL OF YOU TO PROVIDE GOOD ADVICE IS SUCH A SHORT TIME

Now the route is slightly changed, nor from Delhi to Agra, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Pondichery, kaniyakumari and back to thrissur. so the total distance is reduced to 6000 Km, also traveling through GQ(Kolkota - Chennai, which contains 210 Km of unfinished road work can be avoided)..

The start date is fixed on October 2nd..So please let us know whether there might be any problem in the states we would travel at the time we reach there

So we would like to ur opinion on whether the route through nagpur is possible to do, is it a safer area, and will be any mobile coverage through the route???
and We hope that we could do 110-140 Km/h alltime while from hyderabad to chennai as the road is good and almost deserted. So we hope that this route will put our stamina to a test.... what would be ur opinion???

Also from mumbai to Udaipur there is nearly 800 km for a day, how is the road condition and

Day 1 Morning –Start from Thrissur, 522Km Murudeshwar
Day 1 Night – Stay at Murudeshwar
Day 2 Morning – To Panaji, 206 Km
Day 2 Afternoon – Go to Colva Beach (White sand beach) and spend night there
Day 3 Morning – Goa to Mumbai, 593 Km

Day 4 Morning – Start from Mumbai, 797 Km to Udaipur
Day 4 Night – Stay at Udaipur
Day 5 Morning – Visit City Palace, travel to Jaipur 405 Km

Day 6 Morning – Visit another Palace and travel to Delhi, 258 Km
Day 6 Evening – sight seeing, stay at Delhi

        Wow.. Great plan..

Just a question, dont your bike need service under this 7k kms ride ?? I mean under the given plan I dont see any time alocated for service / maintenance !!!

Is R15's service intervals are more than 7k kms ??

Also, you dont seems to have any reserve day.. Sure you would be able to complete 800 kms each day non stop that to back to back for a couple of week ?? I am sure guys here who have done a GQ can give much better idea, but what ever little I have rode on NH2 (Delhi - Kolkata) and NH6 (Kolkata Mumbai), i doubt that 800 kms that to back to back would be bit hard !!!

          Here it is mentioned clearly.
But yes, doing more than 800 km back to back is very difficult. Hope you have enough riding experience in the R15.

7000 km in 13 days would be great if R15 would have been a tourer, but it is not, u may complete the trip on R15, but you wont have that pleasure that of using a cruiser. Plus i really doubt the touring capabilities of R15 (though i am not sure)

The bikes will do fine if the the bikes are well maintained. There is no doubt about that. I wonder what the condition of the riders will be after completing 7K km in 13 days.

Might have trouble with the road from Kasargod to Murudeshwar. Back in April the roads were in great shape from Mangalore to Murudeshwar but recently due to heavy rainfall i've heard that the roads are bad again. But since your riding in October there's plenty of time. Roads maybe back in shape.

800Kms or more in day on the R15 aint a problem. It will only be a problem if you encounter bad roads. Else on good ones, cruising on the bike is a piece of cake. Even with a lot of luggage you can stay put at upwards of 115+ and enjoy the ride.

I would suggest that you add in a few extra days as back up, and also for rest and sightseeing. Never know what you may encounter and since your taking the trouble to ride such a great distance its better that you make the most of it and not hurry it up Try to extend it a bit so you can travel less and enjoy the journey more. But overall the distances look doable and it sounds like a good plan.

Maybe you should include some of the northern regions, Rohatang, Spiti? Or maybe that's for another day?

Let me know when your crossing Mangalore. Might ride some distance with ya'll if i've no other committments.

Wow that's a great plan! As already mentioned above, I would suggest you to add a few more days and visit more places. You would enjoy the ride more. 800 km back to back will mean only riding and no pleasure.

Btw, What's the estimated budget for the entire trip including staying costs. If you have split up the costs can you please mention them. What kind of accommodation are you looking during the trip.

Day 10 Morning – Kolkatta to Vishakapatanam, 866 Km
Day 10 Night – Stay at Visakapatanam

The plan is awesome, no doubt about it

I've recently done a trip to Vizag, Araku with my bike (and that was Discover, with a pillion rider), and as per me you cannot complete Kolkata- Visakhapatnam 866kms in same day(from morning to evening). Because some part of NH5 is in under construction in Orissa (2 stretch's of around 215kms). It was full of diversions with broken patches and speed breakers. If you try to cover it I think you are taking a risk of break down, no matter what bike you are riding.
Try to add some more day to your itinerary.

                          all the best...

but Kolkatta to Visakhapatnam is very difficult in a day. pls make it two days and since your stay in Visakhapatnam is only for the night, you might try to do Tuni (100KM from Visakhapatnam) or a little further in two days.

Route from Visakhapatnam to Chennai is doable in day but having ridden for 10 days already, this is gonna strain you. Riding seems easy there with plain and wide highways and you can easily average 80 or 90 KMPH including your stops. But then, there's a lot of wind that keeps pushing you back... if the day turns out to be a little more windy than normal then your back will start to feel the discomfort a bit as it is already strained in similar conditions for the past 10 days.

as stated by few guys already, the plan is a bit ambitious... pls extend it by 3 more days at the least.

carry good torches, a small petrol can (with petrol) and at least two bottles of water each... apart from the tool kit.

extend your days guys......the sitting posture on r15 is not so comfortable to do 800km a single day....telling you with my experience riding an r15.....

also have atleast a half day break every 2000kms for maintenance of bikes..

                              about R15 sitting position.....

Is it possible to change the handlebar to a diff one rather than the clip ons?

it'd be really good .....can be called a tourer sports as well
