Guys I have made changes to the plan and have included Coimbatore , ooty, vaalparai, athitampally . I will be starting from Coimbatore.

Plz look in the s.no 4 SharavanaBelagola to Agumbe(Via belur,halebid,hornadu,kudremukh). please let me know the whether the distnaces are right or not.

any further route info on day 7???hows the road condition.please let me know the route from mangalore to chalakudy

Thanks for your input. I too have done Vaalparai athirampally and Halebid,belur,Udupi, Murudeshwara . But I would appreciate if you let me know the distance between mangalore to chalakudy route information ,Road condition and Distance.For me blogs are blocked in my office. so i wont be able to look in to it now. Please reply if you see this message sometime in the day

No offence mate but, you actually request info about places other than goa in your last post!

And no one is paid here to put in their suggestions, so people will take time put in their replies. Sometime or the other someone will notice your queries.

I agree no one is paid to reply to my queries. Apart from that line i can take it in the right spirit. I hope you too will avoid these kind of statements.I dont see a valid reason for that particular statement.

Sometimes every one will be excited and checking for replies day and night and hence might post like that. If mods think that my post is not in the right spirit rquest them to delete it.

i myself deleted the post, as i dont want to get in to anysort of arguments. I came here to mingle with the people who have the same passion and I dont want to do anything else here.

With regards to your query, did you try maps.google.com for the distance?

Yeah i did it its around 388 kms(Mangalore to chalakudy). But i heard NH17 is not good, so looking for some alternative routes and info.

any inputs??????

Hi Guys need ur inputs on the following.

Mangalore to Chalakudy. whether its doable in a single day (TBTS, Bullet500, hh karizma) hows the road condition. is there any alternate route. any places to visit in this place.

Is agumbe a safe place to stay. Heard about naxalite acitivities.

I am thinking of taking Agumbe->shimoga->badra->honavar->karwar route. Though the distance is more than taking agumbe ->udupi->karwar route, i am expecting it to be a scenic drive. Any idea how much time this 350 kms stretch will take? hows the road condition?

Hi All

As the date is nearing,I have made few changes in the route.

23rd Dec Day 0: Bangalore -Coimbatore-350 kms
(Blr-Hosur-Royakottai-pennaharam-mecheri-mettur-andhiyur-athani-bangalapudhur-sathy-annur-Coimbatore)

Dec 24th Day 1: Coimbatore-Sathyamangalam-dimbam-chamrajnagar-nanjangud-mysore-Hassan-belur-halebidu-chikmagalur(Halt)-Roughly 430kms

(Dont know why Google map doesnt show the Sathyamangalam-dimbam-chamrajnagar-nanjangud-mysore route ,instead it shows via ooty bandipur.So not sure about the exact distance.)

Dec 25th Day 2: Chikmagalur-Mullaingiri-Chikmagalur-Agumbe(Halt)-160kms

Dec 26th Day 3:Agumbe-Shimoga-Hubli-Dharwad-Kittur-Belgaum-Amboli(Halt) -362 kms

Dec 27th Day 4: Amboli to Goa (halt) 120kms
Dec 28th Day 5: Party at Goa

Dec 29th Day 6: Goa -Karwar-Udupi-Mangalore (365kms)

Dec 30th Day 7 : Mangalore -Bekal fort-Chalakudy(Kerala) NH 17 -342 kms

Dec 31st Day 8: Chalakudy-Athirapally-Valparai (Halt) NH 17 -120 kms

Jan 1st Day 9: Around Valparai

Jan 2nd Day 10: Valparai -Coimbatore 100kms

Jan 3rd Day 11: Coimbatore -Bangalore -350 kms

I finalized the above route by referring google maps .If any of the route mentioned above is not good/Not safe/not scenic/road is not good/Not doable please let me know.
