I simply love Dal Lake! The houseboats, the superb views... you do not seem to have encountered and taken pictures of young girls coming in the morning with flowers in their shikaras. Unforgettable memory for me. Did you visit the Char Chinar or any of the Mughal Gardens?
The way from Baltal to Amarnath is shorter buy way more difficult. I did it from Chandanbari near Pahalgaon. 3 days of trekking to reach Amarnath through some incredible landscapes. It is a pity however to see how the snow has completely disappeared from around the main cave. I have seen that place surrounded everywhere with metres of snow! You do not have any photographs of the lingam or has it completely melted now?
Btw, how was the chopper ride. Was it exciting? Only one photograph from the chopper? Your face looks quite swollen from the altitude.
I somehow do not like Zojila. It seems to create problems and traffic jams. How was your ride there? Silken routes at Zojila next year? That is what they say every year!
Enjoyed reading your text, very organised and nice summary at the end. Thanks. The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

i also love Dal lake but this time i was quite disappointed. this was my 3rd time there and Dal is really loosing it's beauty. i was astonished seeing the condition of the Lake in Old City part. Nobody cares about it or to keep it clean...
'll post some more pictures from Old city visit. But it was really beautiful when i visited during 2002 for the first time.
i rather prefer Nagin Lake which seems more beautiful to me...
and about the pretty kashmiri Girls, ahh.. i really missed them because i spent a long time in the vegetable market and old city...
dint visited char chinar this time and only went to Nisath Garden, those are good if you see them for the first time
during my first year of architecture, I n mughal gardens were rivals. I was just unable to remember the exact plans with their names, there were so many in number
And heard a lot about the Chandanbari route, wish to trek from that route someday. and the Lingam was more or less melted down and there was no cameras allowed. If you 've some captures from your visit then please post them, 'll love to see them all...
chopper ride was for 4 minutes, it ended before i started enjoying
aerial photography was not allowed, only managed one capture

I am not a shutter bug, neither i have any good understanding of lenses, focusing etc etc, but pics like this one makes butterflies fly in my stomach and makes me feel, I should also put my eye behind the small window to click something like these.
Could you tell me more about your camera and what all you had along with to capture photo like these.Somebody Stop Me.....
