                                travelogue posted here

Well, it's been quite a while now that I am back from my trip. The trip was supposed to be Delhi-Jim Corbett-Binsar-Ranikhet-Nainital-Delhi, but the pyre of the whole plan was burnt up when we faced some undesirable situations. Following is the account of what all did it take about planning the trip and how was the plan ****ed up.

It was when Dhruv came back from Binsar that i got to know about this beautiful place. I at once decided that I would be riding to Binsar in the near future. This was going to be my first ride. Somehow, I changed the plan and decided to go to Lansdowne, merely 250 km from Delhi. I thought it be a place just a stonethrow away and would not take much of effort to reach there (as this was my first ride). Everything was planned for Lansdowne along with fellow riders Mayank, Protim and Arjun. Just before the day of departure Shyam and Simran stepped in and decided to get along with us. This was the turning point for the ride. It was again decided that we would be doing the Binsar Itinerary. But there was a hell lot of confusion created by Shyam. He kept forward the suggestion that we should move to Kinnaur. Then somehow Kasol also came into the picture. (please note that this was just a day before the ride)And after much of brainstorming, the same old Binsar ride was finalized.

It was decided that we would leave for Jim Corbett on 3rd of October at 5 am. i had already set the alarm for 4.45 but to my fate it was 5.30 when I woke up. I saw 20-25 missed calls and messages on my mobile phone. Quickly woke up, did the needful and was listening to the ferocious threats, full of anger from my co-riders. Left my place memorizing the God and met Protim who was waiting for me at the beginning of the DND Expressway. This poor chap was waiting for almost an hour or so for me. I really felt bad. Anyhow, we crossed the expressway and contacted Mayank over the phone. I was advised to meet at a specific place. I knew as soon as I would reach there, I would be beaten up to an extent of hell. So I maintained distance and was a bit reluctant to meet other riders, for obvious reasons!!! he he he.

Anyhow, the ride started with Arjun backing off for some genuin reasone. Hence the count was reduced to % riders and 4 rides. A quick into to all would be required here.
                                RIDES
                                Silver '08 220 aka Rampyari
                                Red '08 220 aka Dhanno
Black (year not known) Thunderbird aka Generator
                                Black '08 R15 aka scooty

                                RIDERS
                                Karan Sharma (me)
                                Protim
                                Mayank
                                Shayam
                                Simranjeet

Now, all was fine, we started the ride and crossed the busy traffic of Noida and zoomed on the highway which was more or less same as the local roads. Bustling with teeming traffic which included cars, trucks, buses, cycles, motorcycles and every mode of road transport that you can imagine, it was really difficult to navigate in that traffic. To add to it, there were a number of potholes reminding the unfulfilled promises of the ministers. Well, the bad stretches were over and we were thoroughly enjoying the ride. While heading forward, just before Hapur, I was left alone and the rest of the riders were nowhere to be seen. I traveled about 10-15 km forward and then stopped as I was not able to control myself clicking the pics of that beautiful highway and that beautiful ride. I moved forward after clicking some pics. After a few kilometers, I saw the co-riders waiting for me. As soon as I stopped, Mayank and Shyam started opened the throttle of their anger as Rossi would do when he would find a straight stretch on a track. They were insisting me to rip the bike as the stretch was good but i wanted to cruise on 80kmph. My cruising part was raped by those demons and I started ripping my year old 220 to cope with them.

After some time, we all felt too hungry and desperately wanted something to eat. Mayank blessed us with the fact that if we ride for another 50-60 km, we would come across a wonderful eating joint. We all agreed and decided to take our next break there itself. At this point in time, Shyam was levied the responsibility to click some memorable pics by the cam that lied unused in my pocket. It was found that he was doing the job quite well! As we moved further, we came across the breakfast point. After placing the order, we continued with our BA******. Amidst the BA****** session, Mayank announced the name of this dhaba to be Tadka. A soon as I heard the name, my mind was brimming with the memories of my last trip to Ranikhet. I immediately recognized the place and looked around. A little had changed.

The breakfast was served now. All sorts of mouthwatering paranthas were lying on the table. We started relishing upon the savory breakfast and eventually everyone was full to its best. Meanwhile, we were discussing all types of worldly topics and contradicting and supporting each other (a modest form of BA******). After a big, heavy breakfast, we decided to move on and take the next stop at our first destination...Jim Corbett. Enjoying the no less than beautiful highway we took a u turn to the left and entered the dusty and dirty roads full of pot holes. Still it was a pleasant experience to ride on for the first few kilometers as on the either side of the road were lush green fields. As we were about to enter the city, the other three rides zoom passed two guys on a 150 who had a pillion with him. He immediately got provoked and crouched to the fullest to gain some RPMs. Poor chap, the guy sitting behind was a fool as he did not crouch and was thoroughly enjoying the gush of wind. After a while, he got even more serious and started riding rashly. He tried to overtake a tractor trolley which was already overtaking something. When he saw that he cannot overtake from the right side, he tried to overtake the same from the left side. But to his bad, he encountered a slow moving bull-cart. To top it all, he was at a speed that he could not break hard, otherwise he would fall. He slowed down and went off road, just to save his life. Phew! Thank god nothing bad happened. Crossing the bustling traffic of a small city, we came across all sorts of "riders' nightmare"...potholes, stagnant traffic, maniacs, buses waiting in the middle of the road, the bullock carts magnanimously moving on the road and what not! Somehow, we managed to cut through the traffic and reach at a place where I found a theka
