            Oh yes..!

Now, Pujas were over. I needed to ride. Everyone, at least from West Bengal, relates Orissa to only one place, Puri. But I wanted to ride the other parts of Orissa which were closer, namely Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar. Called up Jonak da and he was game, as always. Psycho28 aka Prasenjit da also joined us for the weekend ride. The main attractions for me was Waterfalls, Off-roading and planning some BIG things with Jonak da. Had fresh Motul 300v in the bike and got the chain lubed and I was ready. I had dislocated my right wrist 6 weeks back and the healing process was not complete, but decided to ignore it and ride anyway.

            Day 1:

Met up with Psycho28 on NH6 just off Kona expressway where he was waiting with his Blue 220 Dtsi. Jonak da came after 10 minutes and by 7 am we started riding. We were already late so the rip fest began. We were doing 85-95 kmph and reached kolaghat by 7.40am. Had breakfast there and continued till kharagpur where the four lane NH6 turns into 2 lane highway. Had a few butt breaks till jharkhand border, specially on the jungles of Kuluboni/salboni.

I had a small Point n shoot Sony digicam and it was easier for me to click pics every time we stopped, as opposed to the other two who had big fat superzoom cams.

Jharkhand and Orissa both greeted us with potholes. lots of them. And our speeds dropped. Stopped near Orissa border to click pics. After some 30kms, we had good roads from Rajaluka to Bangriposi. Ghats of the bangriposi range were beautiful but had terrible roads. And the Pothole nightmare continued.
We had too many photo breaks and it was 12.30pm already. So we decided to take less breaks and ride fast. Crossed the entry point of Simlipal reserve and roads were almost good till jashipur. Now this weird thing started. We were getting Pothole filled terrible roads for about 1-2kms, then good smooth roads for 4-5kms and then potholes again. This continued almost till keonjhar. Really gets on your nerves.

By the time we reached Keonjhar it was 4pm. Dumped our luggage in a hotel and went straight to a restaurant. We were damn hungry but wanted to visit sana ghagara within sunset. So ordered " sabse jaldi jo milega wahi lao". the hotel boy-" sir noodles lijiye jaldi hoga". We agreed. He came back after 30 long minutes and answered " sir noodles boil nahi hua tha". Visited sana ghagara.
            (copied from orissa tourism website)
The Sanaghagra falls (about 30 metres) situated around 5 km from Keonjhar is one of the most popular picnic sites in the region. One look at the beauty and serenity of the place is enough to understand why visitors make a beeline for this place.

Clicked pics of the falls and of a big spider. But it was getting dark and we returned to the hotel. Dinner, Beer, Opeth, Textures and Porcupine Tree later I was asleep knowing that the real fun starts tomorrow.

            Meet point.

            After kolaghat..

"So, you got F'ed in the face??"

            .

            .

            Jungles of Salboni.

Cramster - Never fails to grab attention.

            I and Fi.

            Alone.

            Not alone.

Waiting for Jonak da who stopped to click pics.

            Climbing Bangriposi.

            Spot the bike.

            .

One almost came under my front wheel...!!

            .

            Just before simlipal.

            Thats how he rolls.

            Water was needed.

Loads of it - Sana Ghagara.

            Busy clicking.

            .

Ill let the big cam guys post better pics of it.
