August end would have been excellent period to visit Maharashtra but nonetheless this season is also good.

its gonna be all dry by the time you come. Include two beaches atleast , add a couple of forts and mahabaleshwar + Lonavla + lavasa

Day 1- Mahabaleshwar or Pune or Mumbai .
After that you guys gotta work it out for me.
Day 9- Hubli- Bangalore

I dont wanna keep riding and covering kms like a truckie , would want to spend some time at places

There is sooo much to see but few places you could plan probably are

North Maharashtra: Nashik, Trimabakeshwar
West Maharashtra: Pune(Sinhagad fort,Mulshi, Kaas, Chalkewadi, Bamnoli, Mahabaleshwar, Koyna) , Kolhapur(Panhala fort, Phonda Ghat, Amboli Ghat, Radhanagari Sanctuary)
Central Maharashtra: Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Daulatabad fort
Eastern Maharashtra: Wildlife parks such as Tadoba, Pench, Melghat, Nagzira
Coastal Mahashtra: Tarkarli beach, Vengurla beach, Ganpartipule beach, guhaghar beach, velneshwar beach..so many of them!

You can decide on the route and visit these places...there are soo many other places but then u need hell of time to visit!

That's a fantastic plan MG.. Very elaborate and covers quite a lot of places in Maharashtra. But it'll be too much of travelling for him.. that's just what I feel.. no offense.. Am saying this just cause as santoosh said..

yen sar, iga plan madtidira .. told u to come during rains .. now most of the places are drying .. all hills going pale yellow .. if you delay further, dam water levels will also go down .. so come soon..

btw.. any particular reason for coming north of blr?.. had you come here in aug-sept you'd have gone back with the biggest grin ever.. nows a better time for ooty, munnar, kerala .. but i guess that's been done several times over..

neither man. . just hibernating from forums a little .. nights are turning out to be pretty awesome these days around pune..

north west MH has some awesome places.. northwest MH is a lot like northwest KA.. if u come this far, you'll miss it bigtime.. south MH u can do it as part of any belgaum, goa trip .. u could infact plan on doing something like MG's plan but in reverse.. start from the farthest and then go south.. that way, you can alter plans better and still reach blr on time..

when was the last time you saw that in any triplog ?

on the positive side.. every place mentioned here is religious.. just a different religion thats all

Its not the perfect time for MH visit.
Saying this bcoz in monsoon these places turn tooooo b'ful compared to winter.

But anyways no time is a bad time to do a bike tour.

This would have been my itenary:

Day 1 : pure riding day
B'lore to satara : 750-800 kms super smooth highways.(This will save time for exploring MH).

Day 2 : Hill Station,Windmill farms, Lakes
Satara - Tosegar(windMills,ask for Pawan chakki)- Mahabaleshwar - Explore Panchgani and Mahabi.

Day 3: Hillstation,Lakes,Fort(Pratapgarh),Twisties
Explore Mahabi till noon then - Poladpur - Pen - Vashi - Mumbai

Day 4 : Mumbaiiiiii
Get a Mumbai Darshan Bus to get a quick experience of Amchi Mumbai.It might sound odd to get into this kind of travelling in a bike tour but Mumbai,its lifesyle,its culture is a must visit for any traveller.
I just returned from a 3 day visit of Mumbai.Its amazing place.Very different from Delhi,Kol,b'lore...One should get the feel of mumbai local atleast once.

If you remove this you can add,Lonavala,Khandala(similar to mahabi),and some beaches of costal MH).

Day 5 : Not sure how b'ful this place will be in winter.input needed
Mum - Bhandara - Nasik(Mum xbhpians can provide input on his route)

Day 6 : Heritage site,A Crater/lake created by a meteor hitting earth.
Nasik – Ellora – Lonar

Day 7 : lonar - Pune

Day 8 : Twisties and beaches.
Pune - Lavasa (if you love twisties) - Mulshi - Mangaon - Ganpatipule- Goa
Day 9 : Twisties
Goa - B'lore.

I totally agree with this, a Mumbai Darshan bus will save you loads of time else the massive traffic will just kill your energy & make you irritated

Mumbai trains is a must travel..! It has automatic getting In & getting Out feature...

Lavasa is the kind of place we can go when we miss a track nearby
