  • Mandawa - Rajasthan Personified

Four riders on Two Suzuki M1800 R Intruders & Two Yamaha 1300 Midnight Stars took an overnight trip to Mandawa in Rajasthan. We started early on Saturday'21st Novemebr and braved the chill to ride on.

Rajasthan at this time of the year is particularly enchanting. We found the interiors to be particularly beautiful and clean. Roads were amazing in complete contrast to the semblance of roads we encountered in Haryana.

    More tomorrow....

              Trip Log

Thanks everyone for receiving my initial post with enthusiasm. I will try to do justice to the trip in this blog but am not sure if I will have enough time to finish it. In case time becomes an issue, I will try to do it in two parts.

The trip was on for a while but I was not sure to where (Choice was either Rishikesh or Samode) and finally, due to the Farmers agitation, Sanjay sent me a message offering to take me along to Mandawa / Samode in Rajasthan. I gladly accepted. I was to meet them at 6 AM at Sanjay's house and I reached there on time. Soon, Sunny and Tinu also joined up. After the morning tea, we started at approx. 6.45 AM.

              The riders were:

Sanjay - On a Wine Red Intruder

Tinu - On a Yamaha Midnight Star

Sunny (not G) on a Yamaha Midnight Star

None of the above three are xBhp. Below is me, the only one of the four who is from xBhp.

Well, my bike is there, I am behind the camera.

It was bitterly cold and my agony was compounded by the fact that I had over-estimated the protection against cold offered by Cordura riding gear and had not carried the lining or a sweater. As we started from Delhi on NH8, I realized that I was cold to the bone. Winter had arrived on time this year!

As we stopped on a gas station, Tinu lent me a spare sweater which he magically pulled out of his Cramsters! Boy it gave a little relief but the cold continued till we reached Rewari. As soon as you take the turn after Dharuhera towards Rewari, the road becomes a nightmare. This continues for quite a while for many kilometers including some patches with no roads.

We stopped in Rewari to have another tea and plan the route. We followed the advise offered by the locals and heaed towards Narnaul. Till, here, the roads were a mess. Only after the Railway crossing after Rewari did the roads offer a breather.

Too many speed-breakers in the entire haryana stretch was a pain in the neck. While none of us was going fast, the speed breakers kept arriving with an uncanny regularity and spoilt the ride considerably thus far.

We kept cruising and soon hit Rajasthan. The roads becaome like a airport runway and we soon forgot all the miseries.

The scenery turned to typical rajasthan.

              Soon we had reached Jhunjhunu

More coming after I fix the links to the pics... sorry for the messup folks....

                      Awesome, sir! Keep them coming.
