  • Trip to Taj - 26th December 2009

What better way to celebrate crismas holidays than a wonderful ride.

As me and my brother had never seen Taj and we were quite bored after spending one holiday sitting idle at home. so we planned our one day trip to Agra

Plan was simple, just ride to Agra, See one of the 7 wonders of the world - The Tajmahal and return the same day
One of chief motivation behind this was to transfer whatever Basics of touring I have to my younger brother, so that he can also start touring on his own.

We prepared our bike, made some quick notes about places to visit and route to follow, filled tank, set correct tyre pressure. All set to cruse

    Trip Log

    Time : 6:30 am
    Place : Home
    Trip meter : 0.0 km
Like every morning I gave a good morning kiss to my bike, warmed her engine, set trip meter to zero, clicked some
pics and zoomed to the Symbol of Love - The Taj.......

The Ride - Bajaj Pulsar 180 UG IV

    Tripmeter

    Time : 7:25 am
    Place : Near Prithala, Faridabad
    Trip meter :42.6 km
There was a bit of fog in the air, whether was a bit chilly, roads were good. It was a real fun to ride in these conditions. Initially we found some traffic, but as we marched towards outskirts density of traffic reduced
After riding for nearly 50 odd mins, we saw sun rising on our left hand side. We decided to stop to click some photographs.

    Sunrise

    Time : 8:20
    Place : Prince Dhaba, Hodal
    Trip meter :86.7 km
After we crossed Faridabad, there was very less traffic on road, so we drove at quite a good speed. we were feeling a bit cold. so we stopped at a roadside dhaba and ordered tea and butter toast. Tea really helped in
beating the cold and we were again ready to hit the road.

    Time : 9:25 am
Place : Jai Gurugev Temple, Few kms Before Mathura

We crossed Mathura at about 9:35 am and have been driving for more than 3 and 1/2 hours, so we stopped at Mc Dolands in front of Mathura Refinery to have few burgers. Mac D was really crowded and we have to wait quite a lot to have our burgers and coffee...

    Time : 10:48
    Place : Sikandra
    Trip meter : 195.2 km
Ride from Mac D to Sikendra was really fun and we were able to cover quite a good distance in short time. After reaching Sikendra, we parked our bike and went inside Sikendra, which is actually tomb of Emperor Akbar. The placed looked beautiful and we were able to click few good photographs.

Roads are in really good conditions baring few rough patches here and there. Although traffic is on higher side. So be prepared to do some offroading, If you know what I mean

He was really freaked out when he touched protections of my riding jacket, and demanded to remove it. but when I explained him that its a riding jacket and these protections are inbuilt. He was satisfied and allowed me. Although he still had some suspicion in his eyes

nice trip man, and an awesome, extremely precise log. good to see that someone here pays more attention to these sort of things than I can do sometimes...

and this totally reminds me of the one day Vrindavan-Sikri-Agra trip that I took with Desideep, although almost two years ago.

btw, did they allow you to take your riding jacket with you inside. useless guards made me keep mine in some room at the side of the entrance... looks like things have improved....
