  • [Photo Feature]: Weekend Ride:Mulshi-Tamhini-Lonavla

Another of those weekend rides by me. The idea was explore the interior route which connects Mulshi Lake to Lonavla. High point of the ride was when I doing 50-60 over broken patches and my silencer broke into two pieces.

Mulshi is one of the big lakes around Pune. The lake spans for around 15-20km in total. The other big lakes around Pune are Bhatghar,Khadakvasla and Panshet. Lonavla doesn't need any mention and it is one of the overcrowded hillstation between Mumbai and Pune on NH-4.

No log again and I will just add some texts with pictures.

For a change I will start with some bird shots. There is plenty of birdlife around Mulshi and what one needs to capture them is a good lens. I could manage these many after running around them for close to 1hour.

Common site along any bed of Mulshi Lake

Road running parallel to Mulshi Lake

Finally one shot of the huge lake

    Unknown trail.

The above road goes for 1km after which one needs to ride his bike on broken trails for another 5-6km after which you will hit the connecting road for Lavasa.

    Somewhere around Kundalika Valley

    Some posing

    The road takes you here

    And then here

Finally some open stretch after riding for 6-7kms through the jungle

And you are greeted by some more birds around the small water catchment

Second set of pictures will be posted sometime in the evening and you guys will get a respite from birds and see more of bike, road and vistas.

                          Info needed

                          Hi,

I wanted to do this stretch from mulshi to amby valley. However was concerned whether this road is safe or not as it looks completely isolated and deserted.
Please let me know your feedbacks who have done this route like total kms, bad stretch, thinngs to avoid etc.
                          Thanks in advance.

                          Rahul
