gr8 job buddies.
till date i have always read non stop trip logs about karizmas, nt for 1600 kms but lesser distances, but you both have really changed the views of many bikers regarding pulsar 220.
Thanks dude. Thats what Ranga said at the fuel station when we started off. Let's make history. I didn't think too much about that statement till after the ride
.
Am sad I had to sell my 220. But if by any chance I happen to come back to India and work, I would buy it again without looking at any other bike unless Bajaj launches something better

You can check out the 4 lane status of any highway in india at NHAI::Welcome to NHAIOriginally posted by satan69in View Postacc to maps, its 850 kms from my home to katni...and its nh7 all the way...so can i safely assume that hyderabad to jabalpur, road is superb???? from jabalpur to katni, its 92kms
Its pretty accurate and is updated every month with the current status. The Hyderabad jabalpur road seems to be on the North South corridor but I see it is mostly incomplete from the NHAI website. if its a 2 lane highway too it shouldn't be an issue if there isn't too much traffic and road quality is excellent. You might feel exhausted quicker though because you need higher levels of concentration

first of all thanks a ton shrinath. this is jus a begining. much more to come. and of course P220 is the best bike i hv ever ridden. there was not even a single cough or hick up's on the bike the entire day. after completing the ride, the next day i started it, and it turned on normally as if nothing has happened to it the last 24 hrs...Originally posted by shrinathrao View Posthey anubhav and ranga,

Congratulations buddy. So you mean, 1600 Kms in 24 hours works to 70 Kmph on averageOriginally posted by floydanubhav View PostFinally got the email certifying me and Ranga are officially the first team in the whole world to do a Saddle Sore in India
& that to on a 220CC motorcycle. But you see, you cannot keep riding all 24 hours, say probably 20 hours & that makes 80 Kmph!!!
- Hats off to you & Ranga (IIRC from Pune right?)
Seriously - the Americans don't deserve this title on their HD's & SBK's on a good super highway.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
Awareness + Skill is what keeps you out of harm's way
ATGATT + Awareness + Skill means you might Live To Ride another day

Yes that's why they certify it as an India Saddle Sore. and it was 1700 km. The average on some sections was 100+ for over 2 hours
, Coz we drove through rain for about 3 hours, fog for another 3 hours so we compensated everywhere possible by maxing the 220s.
we drove most of the time coz we lost a lot of time in bad weather. no breaks except for fuel. Red bull, chocolate, tea and banana that was all the nutrition we took
IIRC????Last edited by floydanubhav; 05-23-2010, 11:38 PM.

IIRC = If I Remember Correctly
I think you didn't do the iron butt ride for doing it right or did you?we drove most of the time coz we lost a lot of time in bad weather. no breaks except for fuel. 5 red bulls each that was all the nutrition we took
5 red bulls? Is that all? Now I understand what this means, IT IS REALLY iron butt, you don't get down from the motorcycle even to stretch out. Tell me, does it depend on the CC of motorcycle or is it irrespective of it?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
Awareness + Skill is what keeps you out of harm's way

well, i think we did stretch at each fuel stop but that was all .. hmm i dunno about cc but the 220 DTSi was perfect. especially coz of the high speeds we were doing and the awesome headlights in the nightLast edited by floydanubhav; 05-23-2010, 11:39 PM.

It does Sheel; Imagine doing this on RX!!! So its Man & Machine; even if one of them lose stamina, the purpose is defeated.Originally posted by sheelpriye View Postand it is the guys who matters not the motorcycleSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I sure didn't mean 100 or even a 125cc motorcycle, any Indian motorcycle having the cubic capacity of 150 or above is capable and in the hands of an insane rider even a P-135 or GladiatorOriginally posted by aargee View PostIt does Sheel; Imagine doing this on RX!!!
^ have done ~450kms on an RX long back and it was fun
^^many guys have P-220's/Karizmas/R15's etc, how many of them have completed IBA, heck, how many of them have even tried?(pointing at the rider here)
lets not take too much away from this thread
