You will be missing out Pangong Tso without a Moon Light (New Moon Day in Pangong Tso on 12th and you will hardly see the moon from June 10th to June 15th. So plan accordingly if Pangong Tso is a priority!

^^ Let me tell you this from personal experience. If you can go to Pangong on a moon less night, you would have seen heaven!

Plan your trip around the moon only if you plan to ride at night.

Can you explain the same sir. I have not experienced heaven yet, So i really dont know how influential this new moon day would be? Even a PM would do

          Thanks!

A moonlit pangong does not have much to offer in comparison the starry night sky over Pangong on a moon less night!

Trust me the amount of stars you would see will leave more of an impression on your mind than the one bright moon can!

is that possible to take a pillion ride to leh on zma
yeah it is possible only if the driver and pillion are strong and driver needs to be very experienced. In mountains its difficult with all the bags and pillion and then there are different valleys and stuffs. Don't take the risk if it is avoidable.

I'm also planning to join. Lets see how big the group gets.

There's a probability that I join in this time. Last year the whole plan flopped at the last moment.

the plan seems pretty spot.... one piece of suggestion would be not to stop at chandigarh on your way back. The highway between amristar and Delhi and you can very easily cover it in one day.

On the hotels: it helps to book in advance... but it actually doesnt matter at all. you can go without booking .. all you need is some negotiating skills to save some bucks....

are you sure to have enough space to carry both of your luggage in one bike?

                            @ananz

Thanks for the suggestion, but the reason we have decided to stop at Chandigarh is because, we have never been to that city and its mostly on the way and we thought of spending some time out there.

As it’s our 1st trip to Leh, we have no idea what the essential thing would be that needs to be carried along.

As per plan:- We won’t be carrying much with us:-

We have a cranster bag that will be filled with clothes, thermal ware and bare essentials: like medicines, tubeless tyre repair kit, sparkplug some clutch cable etc.

We would also be carrying one backpack that will be there with the pillion rider, it will mostly contain the cameras, and if we pick anything on the way.

Basically, for clothing if we need any we plan to buy it on route, so that we don’t need to carry all the things from the start.

To be honest I would really need someone to help me out and guide me, so that we don’t face any unnecessary problems.

Any feedback, tips, advice would be appreciated.

A suggestion to you guys.. Avoid carrying a backpack on your shoulders. Tie it with bungees to the bike. Be completely free when you ride the bike. It will be quiet a less stress & comfortable.

Its absolutely possible to spend a night on the lake. There are tents, where beds are available on per person basis. No need to book in advance or rather you cannot book in advance I think..!!
