Day 1

DAY-1


its 3rd february.i woke up around 7 o clock in the morning,got ready and called up my fellow rider Snig. Took a light breakfast and started to load our bikes.saddle bags mounted very easily also the tank bag but some problem we faced while mounting the backpackes on the rear seat. Anyway,we managed it. after gearing up we left home around 10 o clock towards digha. We filled our bikes with patrol to the brim and started riding towards kolkatta via nh2. The roads are butter smooth and we made it to kolkatta in no time. We were maintaining a steady speed of 90 kmph max.


around 12 o clock in the after noon we took nh 6(bombay road).traffic was getting lighter.weather was good and sunny.we attracted lot of attention because of riding gears. One man in a car showed thumbs up!some school children shouted LOOK LOOK LOOK XBHP! I was stunned to here that,it seems that xbhp is everywere.


We took our first power butt break 70 kms away from kolkatta on nh6.we clicked some pics,snig,my fellow rider assembled the tripod for some pictures,locals got curious,various comments we heard.some of them are (central army ka officers hai/dilli se a raha hai/road safty ke lie picture le raha hai/rasta chowra hoga/bulletproof jacket pehena hua hai/) we laughed,what we can do otherwise.
We road on. The weather stayed beautiful drank a lot of water to stay fresh.
At kolaghat we took a diversion towards left for digha. the road suddenly became poor.one lane ,two lane,no lane all combined !!we road on. This was a full test on our bikes suspension system.


Around 1.50 pm we stopped at a road side dhaba to have our lunch. Roti tadka was odered along with fresh onions.it was too good.we ate a lot ,aand total bill only was 100 rs.


We left from dhaba at around 2.45 pm towards digha. roads were same ,but suddenly became quite ridable.for our bikes we were easily able to negotiate the bad patches .we asked local people some 3 -4 times for correct path.we passed contai and were in digha in about 5.30 pm.we checked into a hotel which was siuated inner words of new digha.we took a big room for 300 rs only with indoor parking!!


later in the night we took our bikes out took some pictures,as it was very dark there was no see pictures.we ate biriani ,it was delicious and cheap too.we called it a day and went back to hotel for resting.nice ride with no problems in the first day.

Thumbs up So what i was trying to tell,oh yes,bluevolt s some more pictures

today morning Mr.rahul told me that he will meet us on the way,since he will be cruising through nh2,our small town burdwan will be on the way on his today's path.
we met him around 1 pm,previously we thought he will be very busy to get going because he had to cover up a lot of ground but in reality he was so cool and well spoken.
he came to halt at the junction of bypass and barddhaman ,just in front of maruti suzuki showroom.we met him,after a formal intro we started talking.he is a very well and soft spoken guy,i must say.he really knows things.
we asked him about his past experience of riding.he looked so fresh today,i good night sleep can do that to a man!!!!!!
we also asked him about his preparations for this tour,specially i was a little bit worried as the ninja is not at all common in India specially in the smaller towns where getting help in case of breakdown is very difficult.
but mr.bluevolt is very well prepared,i must say.he is carrying a lot of ammo for his weapon!all sorts of spanners,t wrenches,Allen keys,puncture repair kit,foot pump are very few of them.he added as he is doing the ride alone he thought out everything.till now only one puncture in the rear tire and some dirt in the bike is all that it took to cover up to this much.
he is also carrying a eicher road map which is pretty neat.
the man is a mature biker,it shows everywhere,his riding gear,his saddle bags,his tail bags,every where.even he is so perfectionist that he took the weight of both side saddle bags while loading.
also he was saying very high of our own sunny bhai(the one and only).his back up is immense in this trip.thank you sunny bhai for making such a community !!!x bhp rocks!!
he went from our meet point after 15- 20 min.ride safe bluevolt.may the gods blessings be with you all the time. his custom made wheel huger did the trick,its not so messy !!!
