Digha-puri

Its me,so typically me,absolutely cant wake up in morning,so lazy man!!!i mean even in the time of the most earthshaking situations like exams or appoinment or literally earthquake ,i find it to start my bodys engine. You know,its like a old curburrated inline four which no matter what you do ,wont do a clean start like these days mpfi counterparts!!!it needs to warm up,a little patients all it need. feel me?lol.


We decided we will wake up in morning hours and start our journey but alas we woke up at 8.30am(pilan ke mutabek hum logon ko 5.30 ko uthna tha). Any way we got ready by 10 o clock.
Now after fitting our custom made saddle bags to respective bikes we were ready to roll .we clicked some pics before leaving,asked for the routes to puri.
People got scared of us/camo trousers,axo guards/huge out of the world luggage system,lol,no body seen any scene like this before.


We took a small village road which is easily comparable to most of the dirt rally roads!!!!!!total 30-40 kms of this,progress was painfully slow. i was so afraid all the time because I was in no mood to repair my tubed type Tyre from puncture!!!!!all it was there was was dirt,nails,broken termac pieces .the roads are being made by concrete now but its no where ready,only the venders are putting sands,cements,chips piled up on the road side,a total first person shooter experience with enhanced effects of some care less trukies, oh my god!!!!!


but like all,the worst was gone and suddenly we saw a overbridge which was crossing us diagonal took out the gps and it showed NATIONAL HIGHWAY 60!!!!!man,i was so happy,i felt like kissing the gps unit itself,we took a left from there.


NH 60,one word for it,BRILLIANT!!!4 lane concrete roads,very very less traffic. our bike took a deep and full dose of oxygen from the air and suddenly from 15 kms off roading speed to 95 kms ONROAD speed,.i remember one advert of suzuki swift.SPEED KILLS,SO DOES THE BOREDOM!!!!its so true.
Soon we took a break(a power buttbrek,like a power napp!!) and refuled our selves in the form of biscuits and lays cream and onion and lots and lots of water. its close to 12 now and we are in between of Baleswar and Jaleswar. Took out the tripod,and click click click,man,this is what a holiday means,A BIKE THAT YOU LOVE THE MOST,LOADED TO ITS BRIM WITH SADDLEBAGS TANK BAGS,FILLED TO BRIM WITH FUEL,A BEST FRIEND FROM CHILDHOOD AS A FELLOW RIDER ON A ROAD LIKE THIS,CANT BELIVE THIS LIFE STYLE IS NOW OURS.still remember when we were kids we discussed of long tours and now its happening in reality,we were the happiest of the lot!!!
tripod photography,axo armorers ,camo trousers created a lot of questions of the locals,some them even asked are we from army?is the road is gonna have some work?we ans like wise ,.even some off the police officers by seeing us were a little afraid of us lol.


We were crusing on the highway,and suddenly we saw a board saying bhubaneswar 290 kms.,.we were dammn sure we were on the correct road,as we never came in this road before.


We took our lunch break on a road side dhaba,had roti and dal makhani,yammie.a cold drink was icing on the cake.my fellow rider was felling a little drousy,but suddenly I discovered its all play ,and he was so awake after the cold drink as he was never before,.man I still dont understand you snigdhangsu.
My ipod lost all of its juice this point,so from here I took out my new nokia 5230 for music,.


After lunch roads were some what good as we entered already on nh 5.why SOMEWHAT OK,well because its not 4 lane all the way till bhadrak.but as we were on a bike its easy to cut through,.we had to change lanes so often that I lost count,but must say all the turns were marked.
A lot and I repeat a lot of dust as roadworks were on. this was a concern for both of us as both of us are allergic to dust,but by gods greace we didnt had any probs. we marched on and good road appeared.
Well we soldiered on with occasional biological breaks and reached cuttack at about 5 pm,it was breath taking views on the roads,so much scenic beauty!!!
a traffic congestion welcomed us at cuttack but we managed to pass it and went on towards bhubaneswar.
By entering there only,oh my god!!!!!! a huge huge jam,traffic wasnt moving at all. curoius public stared at us as we were ALIENS!!!!!it was quite hot. an auto rickshaw suddenly bumped me from behind of my bike (no break or loss ,thank god) causing just stalling my bike. it was off. i was so angry because of this auto rikshas unnecessary honking and he banged me. I started my bike to go ahead and as of this my corider was in little bit ahead of me. suddenly I heard some slangs from the auto ricksha driver. now a bomb went boooooom in my head.i stopped the bike,engaged the side stand,got down the bike and went straight to the riksaw and pulled the driver out.


NOW what u do when scene suddenly changes?clueless!!!i was also.
By seeing my aggressive behavior as a result of the auto s driver and the public suddenly went silent!!!a pin drop silence!!! I just stared at the driver and that's it suddenly the driver started to cry!!!!!!!saying I AM SORRY SIR,PLEASE DONT ARREST ME!!!!!!!
I let his collar go and he ran away,leaving his own auto in the middle of the road.!!!!can u imagine that?
What could I do,i got back to my bike and went off,as a result of this the traffic in front of me was cleared and I went,and I suddenly felt so funny by remembering the incident I started laughing!!!!!!now snig you know why I was late!!


my fellow co rider was waiting just ahed I showd him the thumbs up our sign to ride on.
We took a left from the bhubaneswar towards puri.its 60 odd kms.now its totally dark now,but our brilliant headlights so effective we were doing 80 kms most of the time. This road is very nice.


We reached puri around 7.30 pm and man there was so much people,so much hotels.we kept on riding and crossed swarga daar ,and went ahed. Marine drive was damaged but we road on for few kms,crossed the light house,and finally found a excellent hotel for so cheap rate(450 inr).we parked our bikes and called it a day.

Just a km away from that dhaba.
