going to Hospet in summer is sure bravery, expect temp hovering around 40 to 45!!!

From Hospet to Mysore via Shravanabelogala is going to be difficult, Don't take NH13, instead take the bellary to Hiriyur road and go to Tumkur on NH4. from there is a good state highway to Kunigal.

Shravanabelogala to Mysore state highway is narrow from what i have seen, be careful on those roads.

From Ooty if you are going down towards Madurai then don't miss Kodaikanal through Palani. there is no use to goto Trichy, goto Kodai and then leave next morning and head to Madurai, NH7 is awesome all the way till the deviation to Nagercoil!

I recently did the trip to Kanyakumari and to Mumbai last year end, from my experience I can tell you that Kanyakumari to Thrissur is going to be tough, lot of traffic on NH47 and NH17. It's better to do Kanyakumari to Kottayam to Munnar to Cochin and then head to Kannur.

Just 5 to 10km from Kannur you get a driving beach, do make sure to ride on that. You will also see Bekal fort, it's a 10 km deviation from NH17 and then the road joins back Kasargod.

NH17 is good for most of the part apart from a small stretch once you hit Bhatkal and till Kumta. the road is not bad it's not as good as the stretch before. Watch out for crazy bus drivers on NH17!!!

Trichy i have to go because my cousin stays there so i have promised him to visit ...............thats the reason there is a deviation from the normal plan of heading towards south......

One more thing as you have done this trip can you tell me how are the police in the south ?? Like do they purposely harrass someone if one has a registration of some other state ??

Yes, you can. Head into the town which should be 1km from the highway, you can also visit the famous fort which is in the backdrop of the town.

In southern states, the police don't harrass you for original documents, just xerox copy should be enough. On my trip, not even once a cop stopped me. Even in TN, the cop showed me the way out of salem having clearly seen my KA registration. I don't think this would be a problem to you.

Just make sure to have helmet on in Kerala, they are strict on that

Wow man... Actually I'm completing my engineering this summer so thinking of this long trip... Prior to this my plans was to get Leh'd but wanted to reserve it for next year (Due to budget problem) so decided for this one... We will see If everything goes well may be I'll see you in Leh in august by postponing this trip to oct... but you know what, if I sacrifice these two trips I can easily buy a ZMR this year itself

By the way If you are passing through Bellary let me know In case I dont have any presentation works I'll see through from Hampi till chellakere
