@Anurag sir: Yes, it is like this, somehow. The grass, the skies are much vibrant in that part of the world than it is here. Strange as it might sound, but that is the way it is. Although, I have never been to any foreign land ever, but this is pretty evident from the photographs that I have seen.

I am liking the photographs that you are clicking, Anurag sir. I am sure as you go on shooting more and more, it would become your 'second nature', automatically. Waiting for more updates, as each day pass by!

Anurag, your latest set of pictures are more beautiful and I never seen USA so beautiful before. It can be mistaken for the beautiful europe where you were

Keep them coming, and I got a feeling that nothing cud've been better than a Goldwing there haha...I hope you are having a wonderful time there.

          Cheers!

Anurag, thanks for the amazing pics. The single lane roads and the surrounding scenery more resembles actual Europe.

Aryan, I think the pics look so much more vibrant coz the sunlight is not as sharp and glaringly bright as in our tropical countries. Besides, the whole place is also very clean...

Wow - just saw this thread. Great pictures and trip, but sorry to hear about your friend who dropped his HD. How I wish I could join you - I write this from just a few hundred miles from where you are right now as I am currently in Oregon on work. But very much caught up at work, so I will probably ride a bike sometime in September when the weather is much, much better!

Looking forward to more pictures and write-up! I have been a few hundred miles on the Pacific North-west (not CA though), and it is simply breathtaking. Can imagine how riding in CA must be, though my exposure is only limited to SF and LA!

Day 6 - From Carmel to the Golden Gate Bridge

We left Carmel at 10 AM and headed up straight for San Francisco the final destination of our road trip...

Immediately after leaving the Carmel River Inn Hotel, we got the thirsty bikes a drink and tanked them up. Here is a shot from the window of the hotel room.

We then rode around in Carmel. It is my kinda town, small, beautiful and laid back. There has been too much beach during this trip but what can any expect when the entire 700 mile ride from LA to SF was along the pacific coast on the Pacific Coast Highway!

Here are some pictures of the beach... sorry for the overdose!!

In this picture, the Pebble Beach Golf Course (one of the world's most famous) is visible

From Carmel, we headed out again on the PCH and rode on non-stop till we were hungry again. We decided to have a meal in Santa Cruz and headed for the harbor of this town. We spent about 1-2 hours here and at at leasure. Some more beach pictures for you folks

In the background, big sur can be seen. We had done this the last night.

When I was taking pictures in the harbor, these two choppers rode in.. I captured both for you to give you some respite from the beach

It was time to ride out again and we pointed our bikes towards San Francisco. We crossed some Vista Points and here are some more beach pictures!!

And as I have taken toooo many shots of seagulls, I have to put at least one more for you to savour..

By the time we reached Half Moon bay, we decided to again gas up at this time. Then we rode the next few miles till we entered San Francisco. I had taken the camera, set it on Auto and put it around my neck. Here is the first shot of San Francisco as we entered it.

This shot was taken when we rode on the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time. ( I was to ride over it twice more !)

A small harbor besides the Golden Gate Bridge..

Anyone who saw and liked "Escape from Alcatraz", would love to see this picture

Tomorrow is gonna be another day !

My other two partners were tiring by now (The last day's ride was 220 odd miles of which 70 odd miles were in Big Sur in pouring rain and bitter cold - wet and 4 degrees C) and today's 150 miles ride ) we decided to stick around San Francisco or rather skip Yosemite for another time. Sanjay found out that the night temperature at Yosemite was below -11 at night and Ajai and Sanjay were in no mood to take the strain of this trip. We decided to take this up the next morning.

To end, I leave you with this panorama I created of the San Francisco Skyline from beside the Golden Gate Bridge.. I apologize for getting the exposures mixed up and will do my best to take better pictures the next time for panoramas.
