Latest development at my end :-

The current record holder Shailendra Bharadwaj has got in touch with me and we have been talking about this ride for few days. He made it clear that he is interested in joining me on this ride . Infact am thrilled with this development and it would be really lucky to have him along. However, I still havent got lucky with any sponsorship and am running out of days. less than half a month remaining and am stuck.

RDX (race down extreme) will be featuring Shailendra bharadwaj, Abhishek beniwal (both are current k-k record holders) along with fayiaz - an rdx road runner from Mumbai and I have been invited to join in with them. So four of us will be riding together in an attempt to break the current existing record already held by RDX guys (Shailendra and Abhishek). RDX is naming it "ICE TO OCEAN 2010" - National Record Challenge - ICE TO OCEAN

This truly is a golden opp for me, and I can attempt this only if the sponsorship thing materialises. Otherwise, I will have to back out .

Bruv, it takes balls to cover this stretch as you would be streaming down across various weather conditions. Rain at heights could be a moral damper. Its rightly advised that you do some more endurance rides first just to acclimatize yourself to the pressure, stress (read: both mental and physical), fatigue and what not!

I can tell you as per my experience of the IBA SS1600 (successfully completed) and the Golden Quadrilateral, that loneliness and monotony are really difficult to fight your way out!

Anyhow, I wish you luck and really want you to come up with this record as there are not may people who do these!

Even I'm planning a K2K ride, but that would not be a record.

Last year the attempt was unsuccessful , thanks to a wide variety of reasons. Major being the snow storm and land slide bit in leh. Arnob gupta of motorids also attemted the ride around the same time and he too cancelled due to the weather conditions.

Hopefully this year, things should materialize .
