From where to where in 3.20 hours? From Yercaud top to Bangalore?Originally posted by ArniMarine View PostTo my horror, I had reached Bangalore solo in sharp 3 hours and 20 minutes, thanks to the catch up game! The wonderful group tour had an uncharacteristic end to itself.

Even we guys dint make it back so fast... We left the top a little after 11AM, we were at Thoppur A2B at 1PM and after a 30 mins break we finally reached EC at 2.30PM._________________________

Overwhelmed Ganesh. Thanks for reading it twiceOriginally posted by aargee View Post@Bikerfas - Brilliant writing; Not sure how you compressed the 2 prerides & 2 days of TSG2G meet in few paras. Absolutely great. We too enjoyed riding with you @Bikerfas; I guess all of us for that matter. After reading 1st two lines at office, I knew this is going to be a good one, so I left office immediately, came home & had a through read twice. You read it right - I read it twice

Thanks Amit. we can have the lessons in our next trip which would cover both.Originally posted by Only Amit... View Post@ Bikerfas
Amazing write-up,top class blog
So now I have to take blogging lessons from you along with cornering tips

Thanks Deepak. Had fun too with you all... hoping to see you all in future rides.Originally posted by cbz xtreme View Post@Bikerfas: Dinesh, super duper. Loved the way you narrated all the incidents.
On the return leg from Vellore, one of the reason for our group not doing a 60+ avg was me. I nearly hit reserve and finding a bunk with petrol was a hard deal. tried a few enroute, but no luck. SO had to ride in a speed that would take me back home. My apologies to all the members.
I wish the pic of Ram's fall was there. Think Mr.125 deleted it (by mistake)
.
It was great fun with you doing the lead. Hope to do some more in the future.
Thanks Killer_instinct.Originally posted by killer_instinct View PostNicely written bikerfas.
Thanks Sriram. first i was nerous abt leading then slowly i was able to get the hang of it and was able to lead. all the Pre-G2G's helped for this ride.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View Post@Bikerfas: Good narration of the rides. It is the memory power I would say since summing up all the rides (2 pre-rides and mega ride) is not that easy than thinking about vocabulary. This write up is more than sufficient to enthrill the readers of riding experience.
It was nice to follow you in position 2
while going towards Vellore from Chennai. You lead the pack cautiously as there were newbies too.
The pictures complemented your narration and it makes the reader almost to realize how much fun it was during the ride.
Thanks Ram. hope i lived up to your expectation in writting your narrationOriginally posted by whizzkid_ram View PostDinesh, supernatural writeup...Great applause for you...
You have written up nicely, as i narrated my dear boy

Nice Photos Manoj.Originally posted by men_in_jean View Post
Thanks Raghav. now am waiting eagerly for the photos from your sideOriginally posted by felix.ragav View Post@dinesh. Superb mate. Was waiting fer your write up man. Only now did i get to see it. Kudos!

You are one consistent rider!Originally posted by ArniMarine View PostYupppp...I started from Yercaud top at around 3 pm and reached EC by 6.30 pm...did a constant 100-110 k's and stopped for only 5-7 mins at the Thoppur A2B

Rathish on his Glady pulled into the Thoppur bunk just 5 minutes after Santa arrived on his comet.
At the end of the day doesn't matter if its 100 or 150 kmph you are doing, with consistent riding the difference in time take is hardly anything.
While we (me, Navnish & Tejas) around 3 hours to reach, Rathish took just about 3.5 Hours. And I'm sure he must have still had 50% of his fuel left

One thing i realized on the return leg was, I can go on tour with you guys (read: the ones with higher CC bikes than mine) as long as i am able to maintain consistent speeds.

thanks to my exams, i was not aware of the mega tri state G2G!
LOLZ
then how did i make it?
well on 6th june there was a G2G in bangalore when john had mentioned about the trip to me. was not sure i would be doing this trip. just wished him good luck and returned home as usual. but this time i was willing to be part of this mega event. every day i would think about it before going to bed. i talked to my mom after a couple of days to take permission. simple reply followed "ask your dad". after another couple of days, one night at around midnight when i was again thinking about the mega G2G, i dropped a sms
to my dad with the details. no further persuasion. i was just waiting for his reply. next morning at around 10.30 dad called up.
me: good morning dad. how are you?
dad: good morning. what was that sms about?
me: a get together of bikers from three states in yercaud near salem.
dad: how many of you are going?
me: 50+ for sure.
dad: can you ride the distance?
me: yes i can!
dad: i will call later...
within 5 min i recieve a sms from dad which read " ok you may "
i was filled with joy, and i wanted to confirm immediately, but no power at home. waited and waited for power to return but it didnt! called up john and confirmed it to john! the tires on my bike were in very bad state so i got them changed, and the following sunday was a pre ride G2G which i attended
the next week passed not so smoothly including a occasion where i would have dropped out of the event!
anyways i dealt with it, and my preparation for the ride started. got my bike serviced, changed the oil, and replaced the front break shoes. did a small shopping for some biscuit packets, gatorade and rain suit!
called up john and confirmed myself once again on friday night!
THE FIRST DAY!
the day started very early. at 2.30am
i was not feeling sleepy and was waiting for my alarm at 3.30am and this one hour was very very long.
the alarm sounded and i started my final preparations. checked the papers, and kept everything in order, did final packing, got fresh, geared up and started towards the meeting place. my mom was looking at me as if i am going to some war. i said her i will be fine and i proceeded towards the meeting point at silk board.
AT SILK BOARD!
i was about to enter the zone where bikers parked their vehicles when i was stopped by praful and he asked "slow group or fast?" i answered slow and he said " park your vehicle towards the right. i thanked him and parked as mentioned! paid the trip fee to ravi on the spot and chit chatted with others.
there were other bikers who were not coming for the trip! they were here to greet us and see us off.
thank you guys
tibby was not here, but he called me up to wish safe journey! thanks bro once again
thanks to strider that we had a early biscuit breakfast
although the biscuits were mine, he was the hungry man

some briefing by john and praful, some group photo shoot and we started our journey! amazingly this journey was going to be one of the most memorable journeys of my life
thank you all to read so much! i will continue to bore you guys later.
you wanna know me?
COME RIDE WITH ME!!!!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
