I am planning to do a bike trip from Bangalore to Jamshedpur during last week of January 2015. Office leaves are already approved and I am not looking for an endurance ride. I would like to enjoy the road as much as possible and there no restrictions in terms of the number of days taken either. I ride a ZMR and done a little bit of riding in and around Bangalore. I am not an expert in long distance touring either and this route is completely unknown to me. Helps in any form is welcome. Itenary, places to visit, places to eat, places to stay, road to take, halts to take, essentials to be carried along with me etc.

Re: Bangalore to Jamshedpur Solo trip
shashank ashwin has done many long rides and he has got many experiences covering from endurance rides to long rides to weather changes to food and accommodation and even recovering from accidents.
So I guess he needs to segregate all those points.
Same is with you Divya Sharan. Also Bangalore to Jamshedpur route will be somewhat similar to what you have already done this year as your Bangalore Bhubaneshwar Bangalore, so planning part wont be much tiresome for you for major part of itinerary.
You all have to start from first deciding dates and number of day and the optimize the itinerary comparing the available no of days along with back up days.
Then decide on things required.
List of items necessary can be discussed anytime and we can share any missing items as in our group lesser number of people are travelling at that time(till now to my knowledge).
And then comes the pimping up of your bike, riding gears and then any cameras you want.
So continue accordingly.

Re: Bangalore to Jamshedpur Solo trip
I have a 12 days leave from office, but would prefer spending the majority of it at home with my family. I am planing to do a one way-trip to test myself and to analyze the condition of the roads too. If possible I will ride back, else bike will come in train. I am keeping my options open as of now. Will start on 23rd January 2015. Since I have started planning much earlier, I have options of modifying the itinerary based on suggestions by fellow riders. Basic plan is to cover the one way with night rest in Rajamundhry and Bhubaneshwar, but since I fear I might not get this chance again, I would prefer not to skip some must visit places. Of course, all of them can not be covered, but rushing through them is something I do not want to regret later. During the course of next two months, I do plan to have some long rides in range of 500-600 km one way to help me practice for this. Suggestion about some cheap accommodation alongside any pristine, must visit beach is also welcome, as I would prefer spending a night along side a beach if possible. I tired looking up for them but I feel the beaches in Andhra are much less publicized compared to Goa, Karnataka or Kerela. Also I could barely manage such a long leave from my office and chances of this repeating is very scarce. The more suggestions pour in, the more it will help me finalize my final plan.

Regarding riding gears and cameras I have no doubt and its fixed (thanks to a lot of helpful people here in xbhp).
Regarding pimping up the bike, Divya sir to hai hi

Re: Bangalore to Jamshedpur Solo trip
Hi Guys,
I am from jamshedpur too and planning for a solo ride this October 2019. I have a Dominar 400 ABS and have done 600-700kms one way trips. I'll be keeping the riding gears(helmet, gloves, jacket), necessary documents etc. Looking for some tips on which route currently should be covered during day time and which place would be good for accommodation. I would like to reach as soon as possible. So any suggestions?
