• Gurgaon to MahendraNagar (Bhimdatta)

Hi fellows

Would you pls help me in chalking out an itinerary for 3-4 days. Trip starts from Gurgaon n goes upto Mahendra nagar. What are the border entry & exit formalities & charges, documents to carry for self & for the bike, the safety concerns as i'll be with my begum. What are the areas around Mahendra nagar, & the to do list while there, place to stay. What would be the best possible route. And how would the weather be nowadays. I am planning to leave on 28 July @ 4am & back to GGN by 31 July.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

border entry formality - You will need to carry the original documents with you, including your drivers license. The procedure will take close to an hour and a half..
Exit formality - There isn't any such formality unless they stop you.. If they stop you, you just have to show your bansal pass which you will get at the time of entry.
Charges - When you get your entry formality done, you will have to pay close to 80/- per day.. Atleast this was the charge back in 2012 when we entered into Nepal.
We were in Nepal for 4 days hence 80*4 =320 per bike. No need to pay anything else. They are very friendly and helpful (at the border)
documents to carry for self -A proof to show that you are an Indian citizen. DL is more than good enough which is what we used.
documents to carry for the bike - Original RC Book, Original Insurance (They might ask. In our case, it was not asked)
Safety - I am not sure about the safety. I am pretty sure we didn't face any problem at all. But you are going with your better half, the same safety procedure as you follow in India. The only thing you have to be aware of is fraud. They will charge you hefty in few places, knowing you are an Indian.. At the same time, many people will help you with anything you want. Make sure the hotels where you stay have plenty of other people as in the hotel we stayed in, we were the only ones. We felt a little awkward though it was pretty safe.. of course we 3 were guys.

Route - I don't remember the route which we took. the first day we reached Nainital and we went through Haldwani. manojmsoni might be able to help you out as he was the one who decided the route

This might help you out http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/2...kathmandu.html

Places to Visit: One of the best place is the Bardia National Park which is close to 150 Kms from Mahendra nagar. I am not sure about what is around mahendra nagar. we went to Pokhara and to Kathmandu.. It isnt possible to make it all the way there in just 4 days from Gurgaon..

Hope the above information help you..
