      • Helloo guys I am sick of the RTR Fi's rear tyre.Just want to change it to some better ones but they shouldn't harm the bike's handling which is its forte.
        So guys please suggest some better rear as well as front tyre options.

          The pattern of that tyre is very similar to the R15 front tyre. Only doubt I have is, what I heard is rear tyres don't have the central groove, whereas front is mandatory. So, does this pic mean that rear tyres can also have the central groove?

            Are you talking about Zapper Y? Let me caution you - the grip really sucks... and it fishtails on hard braking! And its the worst on gravel/sand and wet roads.

            Dudes, never use a tyre as tubeless unless its marked tubeless on the sidewall!! Tubeless tyres are mede different in more ways than one. Don't take chances with such critical things!! Don't forget your life and bones can depend on it.

              Here is the link for the album, he said they are tubeless but he has spoke wheels so he is using with tubes.

                Hmm..i also checked with the Michelin tyre dealer in Mumbai..he told that the Michelins offered there are of Tube type but can be used as Tubeless type..!

                but, just a thought...will there be a air leak if we use tube type tyres as tubeless..?

                • Hey Guys,

                  I do not like the rear tyre on my gladiator... Its a 3X18" tyre... It has decent grip on road but lot of times i have noticed that it tends to fishtail on braking... Will going for a size bigger help? Just a size or two bigger than the present tyre as i do not want to mess up the handling of the bike which is really good... Or is it a prob with the alignment of the wheel or something along those lines... All suggestions are welcome.. Thank you....

                  • ^^^ up-sizing by one or two sizes shouldn't be a problem but before that make sure that you don't run on over inflated tyres and that you don;t slam the rear brake first or use only rear brake... otherwise, even if you get a 5" tyre in place of 3" you would skid.

                    • I got a M45 today it cost 1500 with bill and a Tuffup tube 325 rs

                      got it changed while changing checked and found that the bearings of the rearend were all broke we changed the breaings and the coupling of the rear end now no fishtailing. and great grip.

                      though the 3 x 18 seems to be bit too PATLA.

                      would try to get a 4 x18 and then move the 3x18 to the front.

                      • ^^^ up-sizing by one or two sizes shouldn't be a problem but before that make sure that you don't run on over inflated tyres and that you don;t slam the rear brake first or use only rear brake... otherwise, even if you get a 5" tyre in place of 3" you would skid.
                        I hardly ever use only my rear brake. I go as per manual and most suggestions and use both the breaks together for effective breaking. And I keep the air pressure on check according to company requirements. What would your suggestion of a good upsize be?? And which tyres offer the best road grip??

                          Since the thing is just not designed to run tubeless, you can of course expect faster air loss. The rubber is bound to be more permiable.

                          The problem is not size. Even a bycyle tyre can brake in a straight line!!

                          Which tyre are you currently using? My Shogun used to fishtail badly on the old tyres. I just changed them to Dunlops of the same size and its gone!! My new CBZ has Zapper Y tyres (which are of course broader than the Shogun's tyres!) and they fishtail on emergency braking! So IMO get the right tyre... don't count upsizing to solve the problem.

                            Check the tyre size conversion chart posted by someone a few pages back. IMO 3.00*18" corresponds to 90/90*18". So, you can safely go for 100/90*18". Tubed or tubeless, which brand etc. is your personal choice&affordability. Once you have shortlisted, many can give you feedback here!
