Re: Tyres
ThAnks for the info but for the frontOriginally posted by Zapps View PostFor the rear, get MRF RevZ S 130/70. It's the best for the budget out there costs 2.5-3.5k, been using that on my P220 for almost a month now. The wet grip, stability and braking is on a other level from normal tyre. Next up is Michelin Street Radial 130/70 but that would cost 4.5k+, it's marginally better but if you can, go for it. Both are soft compound BTW.
Any idea

Re: Tyres
Guys would like to know how many years old tyres is it safe to purchase? For example we are in 2019 so is it safe to purchase a 2017 tyre? I know beyond a certain time it isn't.

Re: Duke 390 tyre options
What did you install finally? I'm considering the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II or the Apollo Alpha H1 for my Dominar.Originally posted by rathores View Post2017Duke390 stock tyres have wore out at 7.5k. Rear tyre has gone bald on one side. I have been hitting right turns probably too hard. Front tyre look surprisingly okay. IMO it can take another 7-8k before it becomes racing slick like rear.
I miss how confident bike used to feel while dipping in corners. I am looking for an upgrade from stock M5. At same time I am expecting tyre life of 7-8k kms, should I just stick with M5? I mostly do city/short distance rides, 500+km ride once in 3-4 month, 1-2 trackdays in 6 months
What other options are there?
Should I change both front and rear together?

Re: Tyres
I have one question regarding Honda Activa 125. MRF is providing a larger tyres "100/90-10 ZAPPER D - TL" for the rear. The typical rear tyre for Activa 125 is "90/100-10". I wanted to know if someone has fitted this tyre in their Activa 125? How has been the grip and handling of the scooter after fitting the tyre? Does it give better grip in wet road conditions? Also does the ground clearance of the scooter gets reduced after fitting this tyre?

Re: Duke 390 tyre options
M7rr actually lasts a bit more than the m5 and performs better than m5 in all departments.Originally posted by rathores View PostNone of them look like an upgrade from Metz M5(may be Apollo). I need better dry/wet/cornering grip.
Many youtubers seem to be promoting Apollo AH1 tyres but I have heard differently from a friend who is using it. whats your opinion of this tyre?
M7rr seem to be only upgrade from M5 but I doubt it would last even 6000 kms

Re: Tyres
I think I'll go with Michelin Street 130/70 R17 for rear, confused about front tyre now. The rear is costing 5300. From Amazon, the front 110/70 is priced 4-4.2k.Originally posted by prasadD400 View PostHi buddy..
If you are not much budget concerned then go for michilin pilot Street at rear (if size is available then use it at front also) it may cost u around 7k/pair total.
These tyres are radial with muti compound material ll give very good dry and wet grips.
Michelin are also known for good tyre mileage.
Off roading not recommended on these tyres still it ll do the job except hard off roading.
If budget is concerned go for MRF revz series which is also Radial and multi compound . Hi may get it within 5k.
Less grip and less tyre mileage.
Any idea if anyone has used 110/70 radial on P220 Front.Last edited by Zapps; 02-26-2019, 12:22 AM.

Re: Duke 390 tyre options
Yes m7 rr would be the upgrade to m5s but Apollo is good too i have been using it on my Dominar and few of my friends are also using it , and have used these last year in leh. Grip is good in both wet and dry, i do jot have much experience on metz so can't give a true comparison.Originally posted by rathores View PostNone of them look like an upgrade from Metz M5(may be Apollo). Unlike metz which last only 8 to 10k kms Apollo would last longer.

Michelin psr.
And best to replace both.
