    Zapper C on my bike (220 Fi) last 20K kms i.e. it was nearly bald! I used it for another 5K kms by when it became completely bald!

    Zapper Vyde lasted 10K km i.e. it was nearly bald and hence lost traction easily. I used it for another 4K kms before it became completely bald!


    PS: I still think the soft compound tyre thing was just a marketing gimmick by Bajaj. There have been instance of tyres lasting (both on the Fi & Dts-i) for 30K kms. And similarly I have seen cases where tyres (both Fi & Dts-i) lasted barely 15K kms.

          Even i thought that it was more of a marketing gimmick. But yesterday when i tested both C and vyde , if found C to be much softer than vyde! It had that soft cushion like feel to it.

          Most probably i will be changing the tire today.What i will do is i will compare the compound of Zapp C 120/80-17 with 100/90-17 .If the compound is harder in 100/90-17 then we can conclude that Zap C 120/80-17 is a soft compound!

            Guys any help on this,

            What would be the best fit and recommended tyre for Pulsar 220 dtsi carb rear and front. Mostly City riding so cornering and grip should be awesome. Soft compound is what i am looking for.

              The 100/90-17 version is definitely harder. Its last 30-40K kms on the P150's.

              What I'm trying to say is the 120/80-17 Zapper C's have always been "medium compound" tyres. The Vyde is definitely lot more softer than the C, it wore out in half the time and its grip was phenomenal compared to the C. Only place where the C trumped the Vyde is panic breaking where the Vyde tends to pull out of line. But overall the Vyde was one super fun tyre I had, can take corners much better than the C.

                need suggestions for the best type of tyres for my Honda Unicorn..
                its 3 year old & has been running on stock tyres since the time i have bought..
                as we all know the rear stock tyre has no grip in middle.. there have been few instances where the bike skids on dew, water.. i need something with a good grip.. i have a daily commute of 50 kms..
                please suggest something good..

                  If it is tube type,then my pick will be mrf meteor 100/90 18".Costs 2.3k with tube here in b'lore.

                        Michelin sirac is also nice off-road kinda tyre.My bike tyre is tubeless so i bought dunlop geo cruiser.Was it tube type,I would have surely gone for meteor.Inspite of being 100/90,it looks so broad.

                            Pulsar 180 UG3 tire change

                            Finally took the plunge and changed my bike's rear tyre to Zapper vyde 120/80-17.

                            About zapper C 120/80-17 being more soft than the same in 100/90-17, i feel its true.120/80 version of zap C is more soft than its 100/90 sibling. So,its true that the pulsar 220 has soft compound tires

                            Chose vyde over Zap C because of the reviews and funky design.

                            Cost- 2600 + 100 bucks for tubeless valve

                            Zapper C was costing 100 bucks lesser at 2500 bucks for 120/80-17

                              spot on bro... The zappec c 120 is much softer than the 100 one.... Bt zapper vyde surely is one hell of a tyre...it keeps gripping on corners until u scrape ur footrests and that too very very confidently... And vyde is much softer than zappec c 120...it doesnt last long...wears out faster...only thing better in c than vyde is wet grip and hard panic braking... And yes the zappec c on 220dtsi is softer than the ones on the fi variant... Infact in my opinion mrf makes different compounds of zapper c in 120.. Infact both 180 and 220 have zapper c 120 bt i find the 220 ones much stickier and the 220 ones lasts less than the 180 ones... This is what i noticed on many bikes

                                same experience as mine...me too had a lot of punctures on my pilot sporty 100/90-18... But i can simply vouch for its wet grip...it puts much costlier tires to shame on wet grip...corners even on wet without any drama...only problem is it have zero grip on sand... Had some 20-22 punctures on mine its totally bald now at 8000kms...actually it went bald at 5000kms only.. Now it does not have any grip on wet but would belive even now it corners like crazy with so much confidence and braking is simply spot on...outstanding...this tyre have extreme amount of road feedback still.. Mind it the tire is now totally bald...not a single thread left
