You can run the front stock one for another 10k to 15k before changing. Running different brands on both the wheels should not be a problem. I suggest CEAT Vertigo Rage, MRF Meteor or Vyde for the rear. Vertigo Rage is bit hard to find, but the tyre is very good. If you like to change the front one too, go to none other than Zapper FY1. It has immense level of grip. I had Vertigo Rage and FY1 on my bike and it was one of the best combination on RTR.

looking for tyre change on pulsar 200 NS.
existing TVS is hard compound and 70% good with single puncture at rear, but due to lack of grip, i want to change it. i am ready to replace new ones after 20k kms. grip is more imp to me rather life of tyre.
please suggest.

Can anybody tell me the name and specs of the MRF Revz rear tyre fitted on the Honda CB160 Hornet? Will it fit and function well on the RC390?

I guess it's not Revz on the hornet. It's a 140/70 17 MRF Zapper. Check the hornet ownership thread for the exact zapper pattern.

And try the MRF Revz C 150/60 for the 390. It's radial and offers super grip for the money you shell out. Great VFM! But don't run a Metzler in the front and this in the rear. Better change both for the grip to be even.

I would suggest not to go for Revz if you do lot of highway and high speed runs. It's good only up to 130kmph. If you do lot of highway, you would definitely ride more than that which I doubt Revz ability to handle such speeds.

For track I wouldn't recommend it. But on highways 130+kmph in India? Seriously? That too on a naked 390? That's not advisable even on a Pirelli angel GT.

Please do not compare it with Metzeler. Though it can be compared with Michelin pilot street radial which it outshines.

My CBR 250R has got excellent grip with the Revz on. I can do 140kmph confidently but I always choose to cruise between 100-115kmph.

Well, I haven't used Revz and my post indicated what I have heard from others. Good if it's stable at 140kmph. However, people who have used Michelin pilot street radial says it's better than Revz, especially when wet (heard that it is very bad) and than Metz in sand and dirt. If it's just for city commuting, Ceat Vertigo would just do fine which has a life more than 35k Kms. If it's occasional highway and mainly city, from your feedback, Revz should be good. I would say if you do lot of cornering, Michelin pilot street radial or Metz or Angle GT is the best.

I had ridden all the way in raining kerala twisties and the Revz didn't let me down. I was doing all between 60-80kmph. Was never less confident.

I had Michelin pilot street earlier before Revz and contigo in the front. Michelin performed the same as Revz in rain/mud/gravels. Dry grip I'm sure Revz is ahead. But then it might be just due to different compounds that I had at both the end didn't unlock the Michelin's true potential.

Any way my point Revz 3.2k > Michelin 5.5k > Metz ~10k > Angel GT ~15k. So from the VFM POV Revz beats the entire competition. The Grand winner!

All I'm saying is, its way better than the normal bias ply ones if you aren't too enthusiastic about corners or your days at the track.

P.S: I'm not a MRF fan boy :P

I am planning to replace the tyres on my Ninja 250R. Have been running on stock until now. I have shortlisted two options:

1.Michelin Pilot street 110-70/17 front
Michelin Pilot Sporty 140-70/17 rear (I know the tread patterns vary, but is it a deal breaker? please enlighten) Also, 140 is not available in pilot street
Cost - 8k approx - Snapdeal

2.MRF NV Series 110-70/17 front
140-70/17 rear
Cost - 7k - MRF dealer

Am looking to upsize the rear alone by one size, which shouldn't be a problem. Also, a restricted budget allows me only few options
I stay in Bangalore and it would be helpful if anyone could help me out with shop and location

FYI Michelin pilot street is available in 140 section. Just cuz it's not listed in snapdeal doesn't mean it's not available.

Don't mix two compounds (radial and bias ply) to unlock the true potential of the compound that you are using. Go for bias plys or radials at both ends.

Mrf NV series are pathetic tyres for a Kawasaki. Try the revz in mrf which are radials. But you don't have a 140/70 but you have a 150/60. Please check mrf site for the availability of stock profile for your bike. Front tyres Revz fc, rear tyres revz c.

It's better you go for Michelin pilot street radial on both ends. It should cost you anywhere between 9-10k for the pair.

As you are in Bangalore, I highly suggest you to go to JC Road (Super Tyre and Karthik Tyre are the ones I have been to, the latter have quite a collection of imported tyres) and see the tyre before purchasing. The tyre price there are lower than online prices and you can bargain as well. Revz Y and M are available for 140 size. If you are tight on budget and want to upsize rear tyre, you can go with MRF Revz C1 & FC1 for rear and front. From the reviews, I can say that Michelin Pilot Sporty are bad set of tyres specially for a Kawasaki bike. Go for Michelin Pilot street which has quite a number of good reviews.

Pardon my ignorance brothers. I found the 140 section tyre in Pilot street. I shall visit the shops in JC road and decide. Thanx for the inputs. As of now, Pilot Sporty goes out of the list.
Another doubt is, will the 150-60/17 fit the rear tyre, because it is two sizes up on stock?

I'm not sure about the fit but in my guess it should. But one thing for sure due to the increased contact patch your mileage will drop 2or3kmpl. You better check the ninja thread and confirm with other prospective owners there.

If it does fit I suggest you better opt for Revz if you are really on a tight budget. It's a great VFM tyre considering you don't do track days or extreme riding 140+kmph.

Regarding costs.
Michelin pair ~9-10k (4.5k+5.5k)
MRF Revz pair ~5-6k (2.2k+3.2k)

Has any one used Metro Conti Scuba? It is not listed on Metro's website. Shown on Amazon.in, Changemytyre.com etc. No reviews any where.
I contacted the seller on amazon and they said its a new product. The grooves are a special dolphin shaped pattern designed to expel water and there by giving better wet performance. Here is the link:
