Hi, am new here
I have a 2009 cbz extreme. I want to change both the tyres as the thread has gone almost n tyre is skidding a lot.
Dimensions..front - 2.75 * 18
back - 100/90 * 18
I want to stick to stock size only as it is the best for the bike. I have shortlisted the following tyres.
Back
1. MRF Zapper Q
2. MRF Zapper C
3. MRF Mogrip Meteor
4. MRF Zapper Vyde
5. Michelin Sirac Street
6. Dunlop Monster
7. Dunlop Geocruiser
8. Ceat Secura Sport
9. Ceat Zoom
10. Ceat Gripp

Front
1. MRF Zapper FM
2. MRF Zapper FS
3. Michelin Sirac Street

I am hearing a lot of negative reviews about Sirac Street ( Indian) & about Dunlops.I need decent grip in both dry & wet road. Could somebody suggest which one to go along.
The bike is currently running with Zappers with tube.Can I use tubeless as wheels are alloys.Also I saw MRF Zapper FQ (80/100-TL).Is it good as front tyre & can i use it in the place of ( 2.75*18) ?All suggestions are heartily wecome.

You listed it all correct bro ,
i am giving character of all tyres:
1.MRF Zapper Q = hard compound, lasts long , less grip
2.MRF Zapper C = better than zapper Q
3.MRF Mogrip Meteor= ride may become harsh, high speed wobble, but good grip
4.MRF Zapper Vyde = best grip but less life
5.Michelin Sirac Street =avoid

8.Ceat Secura Sport= good , less life
9.Ceat Zoom = avoid
10.Ceat Gripp= same as mrf meteor.

Front
1.MRF Zapper FM=good
2.MRF Zapper FS=good
3.Michelin Sirac Street= avoid

80/100 front is a good upgrade but check its fit with mudguard.

Thanks for the reply bro. So if life is not a big problem,then zapper vyde , c & secura sport-i should go with any of these,rt.Any idea about their wet grip n offroad capabilities.

Yea..I'll check if 80/100 will fit.Has anybody tried it in cbz extreme.

According to wet grip i will arrange them as vyde then secura then zapper c . Vyde is best.
None of this tyre is offroad compatible {like on dirt tracks} .
Though secura will perform better on rural broken or no tarmac roads.
So make ur choice accordingly.

I think , new cbz extreme comes with 80/100 TL as standard for front ,nowadays.

Okiee..got it..what about going for tubeless? The bike came with tube tyres but can i use tubeless with stock alloys?

Its possible but ckeck for air leakages after fitting tubeless tyre .

I called MRF kiosk in Navi Mumbai. They don't have100/90 R18 Vyde in stock. They told that they will order it for me and told that it will cost 2K. Has anybody availed MRF kiosk service.Any idea?

If new one is coming with 80/100 , any idea about front rim sizeof new cbz.

Bought this puncture repair kit for 275rs from local shop.
Here in pune 1 puncture costs 80-100rs
So total cost will recover in 3 punctures!!

If changing to TL tyres, then ask the person to clean the rims thoroughly. It happened with me when my front rim was not cleaned on the edges and it leaked air.

Got this information from Wikipedia. Not sure this is applicable to the brand you have mentioned or not.

It indicates the maximum speed at which the tire can carry a load corresponding to its Load Index
C= 60 KMPH
Q= 160 KMPH
Y= 300 KMPH

That is correct info but completely unrelated because zapper- 'suffix' is for denoting model names. It is given by the company.
whereas codes given on wikipedia source are universal.
And I don't think anybody will survive 300kmph on zapper y

Thanks for the correction curve_king. So the C,Y & Q are different variants of the same model tyres.

You are correct about the speed rating. But i asked about the letters in the tyre model name. Do anybody know about that ?

Hi ,
I changed my CBZ Extreme tyres

Back-- Zapper Vyde 100/90 - 18 tubeless - cost Rs.2300
Front - - Zapper FS 80/100 -18 tubeless - cost Rs.1700

Two valves as I am changing from tube type to tubeless - Rs.200

6 month nitrogen - Rs.150

The total cost was Rs.4350 . I changed it from MRF centre - Prem tyres , Chembur , Mumbai . Zapper Vyde 100/90 - 18 is hard to source. Also the lady in the shop told me that there is a 3 year warranty .
60 Km done now. Feels good and the grip is also very good. I don't corner much normally as I had a fall earlier but now I am able to corner the bike. Have to see how much I can.

And thanks for the help to choose the tyre.

Update

After riding for a good 225Km in Mumbai rains and roads..the tyres are super grippy. You can curise at high speeds an can attack corners very easily. Even if you didn't bend the bike , it will do it automatically . After a small ride of 30K itself , you will feel the grip and gives you much confidence. Even in heavy mumbai rains, these tyres didn't slipped once. These are not offroad tyres. The vehicle also fels smooth to drive
