Re: Tyres
Diablo rosso 2.The pirelli has better grip on both conditions dry and wet when compared to the Michelin, but has less life. Pirelli might run from somewhere between 10k to 15k kms depending on your use. The Michelin has better life than the pirelli. If you are an absolute corner junkie then go for the pirelli.Originally posted by Richustanly View PostMichelin Pilot Street Radial vs Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2. Which has better wet grip?

Re: Tyres
This depends on rolling resistance, lower the rolling resistance better the fuel economy. Light weight tyres with better compound are lrr rating so it can result in slight increase in fuel economy.Originally posted by Zapps View PostGuys, this is just out of curiosity, I was wondering how does changing tyre with different compounds affects fuel economy. I mean, switching from hard to sift or soft to hard, how does that affects the fuel efficiency.

Re: Tyres
Softer tyres stick to the road creating more friction. There's more traction and more resistance. So you need more force to get it moving which marginally reduces your fuel efficiency. I'd always chose that extra grip over fuel efficiency.Originally posted by Zapps View PostGuys, this is just out of curiosity, I was wondering how does changing tyre with different compounds affects fuel economy. Re: Tyres
Yep same as Apollo aplha h1 w rated, in compition with Metzeler m7. But i found aplha h1 better in grip.Originally posted by hemanta View PostSome new tyres, MRF revz Steel. Anyone got info about these?
Most Dominar owners are having issues with revz c1 and fc1.
Price is little higher than Apollo if। i am not wrong.
One guy is have revz steel only at rear as the front one was not available then.

I've contacted around 15 dealers in Delhi and none have them. Anyone here has any such contacts that can help me?

Re: Tyres
I'm thinking of using MRF Masseter tyres
Front - https://m.mrftyres.com/products/tyres/181
Rear - https://m.mrftyres.com/products/tyres/177
I wanted to go with this for rear but a fellow xBhpian told me how someone he knew faced grip issues with these.

Re: Tyres
Would you be kind enough to share the name of seller on Amazon?Originally posted by dr@rpit91 View Postthough this reply is about a year late from your question but still,
MAY BE IT CAN HELP SOMEONE
i bought PIRELLI ANGEL CT(city) 130/70 17and 100/80 17 around June end
from amazon
as I dont have any dealers nearby to supply Pirelli or Michellin..
.. i had talked to the dealer personally about the tyres year of manufacture
and checked about his showroom(banglore) in the net....
he was a v.helpfull guy...recieved in good packed condition...
I live in hilly regions of Uttarakhand
& ride Pulsor 200ns
I am an acceleration loving rider and accelerate v.hard, (well top speeds cannot be attained in hills)...
and approx 30-40 km daily run
i researced a lot on tyres and then went on to experiment
with Pirelli Angel city(no reviews i could find)...
now cutting short
i put only rear tyre as front one still had 5-7k left in them...
[emoji1313]
THE tyre is absolutely Amazing...
[emoji1314]now to tell roads here are not that great... gravel and mud is frequent and also i just brought them before rains ...
[emoji1308]i got great response in turning in watery road,
and it is still good in gravel and mud...
[emoji1314]the grip is superb while accelerating and
also while turning in bends...
i earlier was using
rear- mrf Revz Y 140/70 17...
( still front is MRF NYLOGRUP FX 100/80 17)
i had a very bad experience with it,
too much puncture prone
and grip not good(bending and braking) despite being Radial and 140....
now in angel city i have lot more *confidence in braking and bending and accelerating(inc.overtaking)...
i have clocked abput 2500kms in 2-3 months
including long trips towards plains 220 km a day...
i felt comfortable even at around 120km/hr...
gods grace~not a single puncture till now even in much gravelly road...
tyre material is medium i suppose
and pirelli claim that it is made for asian roads(official site)...to me it felt they are right on target...
if some1 is thinking of changing tyres definitely go for PIRELLI ANGEL CITY
you won't be a bit disappointed ...

Re: Tyres
Which specific MRF tyre are we talking about if you don't mind me asking?Originally posted by venky View PostHi everyone,
I have been always very cautious while choosing tyres for my bike or car, as tyres are the most important and critical thing when it comes to safety. It was just a few inches of contact between you and the road. A vehicle with good set of tyres can be said to be safe and sound mechanically.
Recently my duke 390's rear tyre has lost its tread at around 9.5k km. As the replacement of new OE tyre(Metzeler) costs around Rs. 9000, my running cost per km was too high for my budget. So I searched in the market and reading reviews and finally bought an MRF tyre for the duke. Initially it was nice as I did x number of local runs with speeds below 100kmph.
Last week I went on for long trip with one of my friend in his duke 390. As I crossed 140kmph, the rear end was squishing and fishtailing and the tyre was reluctant to grip the road even after some 50 km (more than enough time to warm up) I just slowed down and maintained a decent 100kmph. Also the tyre doesn't feel as confident while cornering too, rear end feels as if it want to go supermoto style immediately even in small undulations.
IMHO, Metzeler is the one for Duke 390 as it was a light weight bike(loses traction as power goes up), no other tyre can match it when it comes to grip. I have ridden my friend's 390 with Michelin and that too proves to be low on grip compared to Metzeler.
Now I have sold the MRF and bought the Metzeler. Now the price has came down to Rs.7500/piece.
Cheers
Ride Safe
