    • Can someone tell me whether changing to 100 section rear of R15 from 110 section of RTR180, will it affect the straight line stability of the bike? And how is the grip of the R15 tyres on wet and off road? Expecting a reply.

The RTR rear is 18" while R15 rear is 17". I don't think you should go for it. Though the R15 tyre offers excellent grip&stability in tarmac&wet, offroading is not exactly its forte, due to being soft compound.

Nope, The RTR 180 rear is 17".. He can go for it but Off roading will only be the problem with these tyres, It offers excellent grip on tarmac

              • Best pair of Rubbers : Survey

                Hi Members,

The main thing that we learned after the Release of R15 is that how good is a Pair of Rubbers important for an Bike...

At that stage only many of us came to know that Tyres also plays an Vital Role in a Bikes Stabiliy...

Though there is an Active Thread available in XBHP for Tyres...
This Thread will be a Survey Thread to know how many of our Xbhpians Recommend which Brand Tyres... and why

There are "N" Number of local and International Brands available in the International Market - But here im Including only 14 options of the Most Common Brands...

Members can reply to the post by the following manner

                Tyres Profile :
                Price Costed :

Im mostly a city rider and plan to tour occasionally. So should i go for the R15 rear tyre? For the front im going for the P220 90/90 17" tyre. Dont know the exact names of these two tyres. Can someone enlighten me?

                      Its T\L

With 28psi the bulges are not very noticable . But as the tyre heats up its very much noticeable. It had 0 puncture aswell
Are the bulges just a visual soar or does it cause some instability in riding ?

Sometimes riding an over inflated tyre through bad roads can also cause this situation. Please refer to the bike's owner's manual and change the pressure as recommended.

                            • Changed both tires of my Apache 180 today. Got an MRF zapper FS for the front one. And the zapper S for the rear. Tried some twisties after putting them on. The grip is just awesome! Even a great lean angles it inspires lot of confidence, a lot lot more than the TVS tyres. Will be able to comment on them more after notching up a few miles.

But one thing that has happened is that the top speed has got reduced while the acceleration has increased. Earlier my bike used to ride at 53 (speedo indicated) at 4k rpm in 5th gear. Now its doing 50 at the same. Might have to do some re-sprocketing later. Also expecting an increase in mileage. Will post more on it soon.

All bike manufacturer use both naming conventions eg. 100/90 18 or 4.00 18

the first one is in mm and the other is in inches. I have explained before in the thread how you read both the nomenclatures.

Both front and rear tyres can have both nomenclatures. Nomenclature like 4.00 18 is more traditional and a newer style is towards naming it like 100/90 18.
