Bike : CBZ Xtreme

Since i mostly travel on the Highways alone, i plan to change the tyres on my own so what tools should i get myself

i think the front wheel needs just two spanner's(Don't know the size

) what about the rear ?

Say as in if we consider a profile for rear tyre then we have 100/90/18, 100/80/18, 100/70/18 and so on...... the same way a bit low profile for the front one as compared to the standard size.

I understand now what you mean. You will observe that in 90% of the bikes present in the market today, the front tyre is 2.75 18 or 2.75 17. Whatever be the size of the front tyre, it is highly recommended to not upsize or downsize as it has a direct impact on stability of the bike. In contrast, changing the rear tyre size has a much lesser impact on stability of the bike.

your tool kit which came when u bought your bike will help. it will have the necessary tools to remove the wheels.

The tool kit which comes with the bike is a joke!

The only thing it'll be good for is to remove the spark plug and besides you need :-
A good quality ring-spanner ,a long one so that you'll have leverage.That's to remove the rear axle nut.
Dyke to remove the valves.
Tyre irons ,preferably two of them ,to remove the tube.

Suggest you to go for tyre changing machine, rather than tools. Avoids unnessecary scratches on rims.

Ok, so it goes like that, thanx for the guidance.
Actually i had the idea of dropping the height upfront, dats y the low profile tyre idea. neways that aint gonna happen.

hello guys ,

On 16th March I got Michelin SIRAC (As tubeless) for my P220 from Poona Tyres Market Yard Pune ... Paid 2600 Rs for it !
Problem started when I saw my tyre was flat out on 18th in the morning ! Thought someone might have removed air hence decided to check it on another day , next morning too it was flat out!

So today I went to dealer to check out what is the problem , after checking it out thoroughly , we noticed there is leakage from the side wall , can see it in attached pic ...

To me it seems like tyre defect , as its impossible for tyre to get puncture on side wall ... Its been just 4 days and the dealer was like U dont get any warranty on Michelin and there is no defect in tyre.
He said he'll repair it , and tht too using fevi-quick !!
I was like ok fine atleast get it working again ! He put fevi-quick on the rubber seal they use for repairing tubes and fixed it inside the tire ... Filled the air and not to my surprise it was leaking again !!

By this time i was totally pissed off ,I said him what is this ?? First you sell defective piece and then try some BS repairing technique ? Tht guy started raising his voice , he was like now you will teach how to deal with tyre to me ?? when i raised my voice he said "tera bike utha ke bahar phek dunga" even yelled slangs !! I replied back , Tera Khandan C*****

...

Then he called his workers not to fit the tyre on my bike , I had to fit it by myself

... I said God bless you to him and left tht place ...

I think that guy is spoiling reputation of Michelin , moreover doesnt have any ethics n manners how to talk to customers . Never had such a pathetic experience with any shopkeeper in my life.

Am I supposed to get any warranty on Michelin tyre ? If not what should i do to get it working again ? I had been saving since long to fit this tyre on my bike and this shit happened , I dont wanna lose 2.6k Rs

Should I mail this incidence to Michelin India ??

Thanks guys , just wanted to share this with all of you... now feeling a bit better

^^^ do you have your bill with you?

Mail the Michelin guys immediately.

You don't generally get warranty on tires with sidewall damage but you cannot leave that guy just like that. Who knows? the guys at Michelin might get generous for you and replace the tyre...

god, I am horrified to learn about your experience. These shops are ruining Michelin's reputation. I hope your issue is resolved quickly. You should also file a complain with consumer forum. Good luck and keep us posted. Raj.

.Recently i changed my front tube to the Tuff up thingy. I bought the tube from honda showroom and took it to this michelin guy(he said he is a member of this community) just a stone throw away from the honda showroom(Tyrestore chennai) after they put the tube using the machine i got the bike off the main stand and i hear this loud "pufff" sound ...the tyre's flat .So they removed the tube only to see this BIG hole near the mouth.The owner said he will give the money .So i bought another tube this time all went well the guy charged me Rs100 for fitting the tube and returned the change.

He had tubeless SIRAC 100/90-18 for Rs 2500 the charge includes some modification to the mouth he said.

He also has R15's tyre front and back from michelin for Rs11000.

Thanks man , consumer forum thingi came to my mind but isnt it quite time consuming ??
