I dont think its a defective tyre as both the punctures happend cause of sharp nails got periced into it.

thinking of using it for another 2 kms or so and will get it changed.

      • Michelin sirac 120/90-17

So I got a michelin sirac as a rear tyre for my bike and initially the installation was done as a tubeless... but then I read the print on the actual tyre and it said tubed type of tyre..... so I went looking for a tube... Couldn't find a 120/90-17 tube anywhere in Bangalore.... was wondering if anyone knew which manufacturers made that size tube and where I could get one in Bangalore?

I think you are making the judgement before using them. On the contrary, you should be happy that your tyres are going to be different than what you practically see on every Indian bike. Performance wise, I feel that they will not be inferior to MRF
its been two weeks since I've been using IRC's on my P220... after all my irrational thoughts I find the IRC's to be awesome tyres... though in wet patches on a sharp bending turn, the rear tends to sway a little the dry grip is stunning... Overall I'm happy with them and also the exclusivity all others have MRF zapps thnkx for ur reply gogreen, u got a strong point

Well, guys, the IRC tyres are good and are upto international standards. Soft compound - grippy and lesser life as compared to the Indian made tyres that have only one thing as their focus - long life.

Though a welcome change off late is that MRF is coming out with some softer compound tyres and of course the soft compound R15's tyres. Even Ceat seems to be taking that route!

Yes, the IRC's cost more and mostly the costs get further inflated as some crazy people like xBhpians are ready to shell out a lot of money for them.

You are getting very creative with your fear. Check the P220 thread to see how happy people were to get IRC's as stock tyres.

Why Poona, tell me if you are serious about the swap. I sure have people who're ready to take your IRC's, get you brand new Zappers and pay the transportation cost to their place.
yup I was getting very creative n NO, no need for a swap now
the TVS eurogrips are among the worse possible tyres... my friend, he installed these tyres on his P150 and after just a few months the grip is nearly gone and the whole tyre feels hard to the touch and kind of shiny... needless to say grip is almost non existant, it slips even on dry tarmac on turns!!! he's going to go for IRC as zappers are still not available there... some sort of strike or go slow at the MRF plant...

            Thnkx for ur replies guys

Good to see you Happy with your new IRC's. Ofcourse, I know that there are still better tyres in the market. Ones with far superior grip in dry and wet. I am biased though as you can guess why .

At the moment, not really into 17". Only 120/90 17 fits the bill for rear. But watch this space for more.

M45 does not come in 120 section. Maybe its 4.00 18, otherwise it must be a Sirac pattern in 120.

Go to a good bike Mechanic near a 2 wheel tyre shop. He would see how much gap is there and advise a solution accordingly.

I have this tyre on my classic CBZ & it has been close to 18k kms & I have no regrets.

For the LEh ride this should be good, if not the best.

it has decent grip on all kinds of surfaces, the next best options for STD zma rear you have is

                              Dunlop Monster - 100/90-18
                              Michelin Sirac - 4.00 -18 or 100/90-18
                              MRF Meteor - 110/90 - 18

                              Take your pick..

AFAIK Sirac's minimum size is 120. Not 100.
                                M45 comes in 4.00-18
