Does a tubeless tyre allow to ride any further without any repair? Could you tell me about what the main advantages of having tubeless?
Also, does a tubeless tyre require a particular rim or just change of tyre itself?

Yes it allows you to ride further for about 50 odd kms when its punctured. Actually working is quite different, my personal expereince says i have ridden for odd 1000 kms or so without having any trouble. The entire air leakage starts when you pull out the nail, (thats where the air escapes, well it doesnt when the nail inside cz it grips the nails quite good)...
Tubeless advantages are more than usual stock tyres (tube ones)-
They can be easily repaired for puncture, it hardly takes 5 mins to solve puncture problems. The Mechanic does not remove the entire wheel to tackle the puncture.
If you are doing long trips then you can carry self repair puncture kits which can help a lot.
Saves a lot of money, you need not change the tube every X kms or multiples punctures. Apart from this even if the bike tire has 4 nails it will repaired ( you need not change the tube cz there isnt any for 4 direct flats)
Long lasting and has superb grip.-Its the same like a tubed one but there is a difference which might not or might be felt while riding.
They surely last long buddy...my tubeless on Pulsar 180 is 26,000kms old having more than 10 punctures...still going good..my mind does say i need to change but experience says you can go on more.....
Cost might be one time more but worth the value.

No particular rim buddy....but yes do check the size of the rim...be it spokes or alloys it fits perfect.....
If you are planning, i would suggest MRF ones. They are cheap and worth...Michelins and Pirellis are there but costly and out of budget....but then its the brand too....

you can fix a tubeless tyre puncture yourself.
it's pretty easy.

tubeless tyres are less susceptible to punctures too.

if the tyre isn't deflated... yes u can.
most of the time u can actually ride to the tyre shop.

i've actually ridden with a nail in my rear tyre for a few weeks.

also... if u put an auto sealant in ur tyre...
it'll auto-seal an air-leak when you get a puncture.

the main advantage is...
u lose little or hardly any pressure in the event of a puncture.


tubeless tyres fit most mag wheels.
but since there's no tube valve...
u'll need to get the valve on ur rim changed to a "tubeless valve"

It depends on the type of nail which has punctured the tyre...in my case the moment i stopped, the tyre got deflated....it wasn't a nail actually...but a hard aluminum strip...so the tyre could not hold it nicely...but in most cases as xionite pointed out...the tyre will not loose pressure while driving...once you stop...the tyre will loose pressure with time...

Both are good,Sirac is tubeless.Meteor is tubetype.

the fastest puncture i've had took a whole 5-6 minutes before the tyre went flat.
i was riding from CBD to Nerul...
i had just turned off Palm Beach Road into Nerul...
the front end felt a little wonky...
figured out i had a front puncture.
fortunately, there was a tyre shop less than 800 metres away.

the slowest one was a "cobblers" tack that went in my rear tyre...
i actually rode with it for a few weeks.

both these were before i used Slime.

do these soft compound tubeless tyres of R15 type have a tendency to get punctured easily??

my regular MRF Zappers get punctures only when worn out, otherwise when tyre is in ok condition, i never get a puncture.

no long term personal experience with the Zapper-S.

buti've got a friend who's done about 20/22K on his R15 with just a rear puncture.

Replacement tyres for Yamaha Fazer

Hi guys,

My Fazer's rear tyre is leaking air constantly, as it's punctures are all leaking!

The tyre shop owner suggested that I either get a tube inserted in it or replace the tyre. He also mentioned that these tyres have a known problem as the "steel" radial threads don't allow the puncture to stay put! And hence he suggested that I go for Pirellis, for example.

The tyres have only done 11000kms. Is it too early to replace? What are my options?

Are JC Road dealers reliable? Do they give used tyres as I've heard?

Any suggestions with tyre models and prices welcome. Dealer name/contact in Bangalore would be great!

I have an RTR 180 and been using Zapper FY 80/90-17 (R-15 front tyre) for past 4 months. IMO, its the best option in terms of grip. However its soft compound and will wear off faster than other tyres.

Im from Pune. Got it for 1850 from laxmi Tyres, near Mangala talkies, corporation area. They are MRF dealers and its difficult to find this tyre anywhere else.

R-15 tyres are more prone to puncture but luck plays a more important role IMO.
