Hi,
ZMR has MRF Zapper C with no central groove. is this the reason why i feel that the wet grip of the tyre is not upto the mark and it slips (It has actually slipped many times and after that i have stopped leaning)
Please check the attachment

Centre groove is only in front tyres, not usually found in rear onesOriginally posted by siddharth_ZMR View PostHi,

Ohh ok.. i didnt ever observe that... but being the central portion so bald i.e. with any groves or thread create a problem in tyre grip?Originally posted by deville_56 View PostCentre groove is only in front tyres, not usually found in rear ones

Grip is mostly based on the type of compound used, especially at the corners.
Have a look at the Michelin India Motorcycle website, they have shown that they use harder rubber in the centre for long life&softer rubber on the corners for control&grip on bending.
As far as grooves are concerned, their main purpose is water dissipation while riding on wet surfaces. This is the main reason why the front tyre has a central groove.
R15 rear tyre also does not have any grooves and is bald in the centre. This actually gives more grip though it wears out faster&attracts nails eventually.
In a nutshell, not having central groove does not have anything to do with grip on cornering.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Guess stock sizes are 100/90-17 and 2.75-17. You can try CEAT Vertigo Sport 100/90-17 on rear ,its a TL tire,Not bad.Originally posted by biketo19 View Posti want to know which Tyre suitable for pulsar 135 .
don't want big size Tyre
For front,get the stock one.
Nice find bro.Originally posted by Praful View PostThe 120/90-17 Sirac is actually heavier than the 120/80-18 Sirac!
Whats the difference in weight?
Pirelli 130/70-17 : Soft compound,Wears out faster,Awesome grip in wet and dry conditions on road, not good for off roading.Lasts about 15KOriginally posted by pr4nav View PostCan anyone help me choose between Pirelli 130/70-17 , MRF vyde 120/80-17 and Michelin sirac 120/90-17? My friend wants to change the rear tyre of his Pulsar 220 and needs some input.
Thanks.
MRF vyde 120/80-17 : Soft Compound,Wears out faster,Nice grip but lasts only nearly 10k
Michelin sirac 120/90-17 : Best all terrain tire, but very heavy, will reduce top end and acceleration, mileage, lasts longer than the above tires.
