The 2011 Bike Launch speculation Thread

Don't know if there is already a post somewhere in here sharing the same info, but got some news from the yamaha dealerships that I thought is worth sharing!

as per what I heard,
1. the R15 is going to be dearer at 1.25 to 1.3 lakhs onroad and coming with a bit more powerful heart with 19-20ps (many of you know already)
2. R125(14.5ps power claimed by showroom guy, but I guess the international version goes with 13.5ps) will be launched this april costing in 90k range to justify the price hike of new r15 and to make slot for the former under 1lakh range!

Damn.. different dealerships in different cities are giving different information!!
Why can't yamaha reveal something so that they could bag some confused and probable buyers?

this is highly unlikely... fazer/fz are more powerful than this bike (the international version) and cheaper as well...

My dealer just called and said bookings are opened for 2011 R15, no more info from him ... And sadly cant enquire in person too since i am out of town

Sorry, I was merely about to start more chaos ... My apologies again!

As soon as I got the call, I asked my dad to visit and check, More shocking news ... Its a 2011 Jan edition of old R15 ... Now the real chaos is since the old R15 still in production ... Thats makes our new buddy to be postponed a way little longer -___-

They are also claiming new r125 is coming too, Well I advised over phone to contact their HQ with confirmations before calling up the customers with BS news!

most yamaha dealers have not been getting stock of the R15.

I really want to see the new R15 soon, Since the CBR dreams already went quite late with the hiking fuel prices! Wont help in much commuting!

And regarding the bolded part, then how the **** did that dealer claim for a 2011 jan produced unit :O

u can always buy the current R15. and then upgrade the rear bit later.

As I was following your post at R15 thread, You posted lota valid news over there ... Even confirming the release and specs ...

So price bump ? Not a issue ... Is there really a spec bump like the others speculating :O ? Some people even claimed that this thing will be launched on 25 Jan. Hmm!

u can always buy the current R15. and then upgrade the rear bit later.

my suggestion is get a low powered bike as ur first bike ...coz its gonna be learner bike for you .. even in west also they start with lower power bikes .. anyway if ur already made ur mind then R15 is ok ..but i am sure .. u learn some real valuable lession with ur [more power]bike hard way ... always keep ur temptation under control

and now my info on New R15 is also failed .. as i reported earlier that New R15 is nothing but cosmetic mods like fairing and yamaha asked all dealers to change it free of cost .. that time i though its new R15RVR OR even it might be 250CC mill ... as its difficult to predict from pics .. [although the overall proportion looks big]

All dealerships (sales executives) do claim that they got the news about new r15 and r125(launching by april at 90k e-s) from yamaha itself and not from other sources!
but the irony is they differ!!
In kerala, at Trivandrum they say one dealer says new r15s are coming by next load that's on february 1st week and will cost a maximum of 3k more!
another dealer says it's gonna be more powerful and will cost a maximum of 1.3lakhs.. really confusing, why is yamaha playing a speculation game with different dealerships!!
