........same old story, but ambitious attempt anyway !!! ...........so Mahindra top honchos permits the projects to be developed now at that Design House and regulates the R&D there as well.

The only bad taste is its name and its tank design.

@satyenpoojary: Poojary ji .....I know P135LS share engine parts with the XCD.But there is a lot of difference between them.
135LS engine is tuned for a 4V DTSi technology with good performance and relatively lower FE.
XCD 135 on the other hand was a simple FE friendly DTS-Si engine.Who despite sporting a 135cc engine used to do only 100 kmph at its best like few 100cc or 125cc around, but had enviable low end torque......only because it was high on economy.
+1 on the mojo bit, anything can be sold in India! Will it be profitable or not is a different story though!

On the XCD bit, thats why I mentioned its the current generation XCD. Its more or less the same engine, but yes with the 4v head on it!! XCD was a good product, but it never took off even after branding it as a baby pulsar! So, in came the P135! Bajaj will never ever under cut 'THIS' product for a GOOD while! The change in the torque band is due to the 4v head! (And I am waiting to see the P220 in this avatar!)

They want the CC mentality to go, hence the new D150, D110 kicking the Splendour in its nuts tvc!

Let it begin first, I have a strong hunch that it would come in a new avatar after the so called 'customer - feedback'!

        +1

After the so-called launch, would like to see if M&M is bold enough to change it before bringing it to the market. I suspect the mojo would be brought in CBR250 price range and M&M will have to play the vfm 300cc trick.
        I like 'em Naked

        Blah Blah Blah!

I don't think it can be called a "launch". It was more of an "official unveiling".

Apart from the pricing Mahindra has to upgrade it new service centers to service the Mojo. Not to mention make spares available too.

In that case, it must take some time.

How difficult would it be to put a fairing or a semi-fairing on it? Now that its naked looks have not gone well with the majority... Just thinking aloud

Talking about TVCs, the new Irfan Khan "Aap ko toh Aadat hai" campaign would be a good one for the CBR250

Not necessary. If the naked bike has a big tank, neat sharp styling and some more bits then it will succeed.
This was the reason CBZ,1st Pulsar 150,Pulsar 200 & Yamaha FZ succeeded.
They were all muscle bikes for average Indians! Poser's dream!

A premium naked bike needs flashy styling along with some specific proportion. Mojo is flashy but the proportion is no more prevalent in mainstream bikes.

In my opinion, Mahindra tried the Italian Riviera look. Something like Moto Guzzi. Which signifies the high life, non conformist styling. A la Moto Guzzi Griso.

But the majority of Indian public needs muscle at this stage of market maturation. Look at the number of naked Pulsars,FZs around.Still need to progress a lot before Indians start to like chic upmarket styling.

Mojo= different style in different country!

How true............infact most Indian Bikers cannot even the plate the looks of most BMW bikes

Over here absolute brawl inspiring looks like that of Triumph Speed Triple is going to work massively.

For the first parts, CBZ, Pulsar didnt have a faired bike as competition. Are you suggesting they would have been as popular with a faried bike around as competition. I dont think so

Muscle bit of styling, definitely agreed, but the CBR has Muscle (looks big) has the fairing, AND has the CBR badge that a lot of us grew up craving for!

Mojo will have to do quite a bit to outst the CBR!

                    • Half/Full Faired bikes in India are mostly considered and bought as Novelty items for their flaunt value.

The majority of bikes sold in India are bought for practical riding/purpose. And for that a naked bike serves the purpose better than a half/full faired bike.

Had Indians bought half/full faired bike even for practical purpose/riding, the CBF Stunner would have sold like hot cakes and would have outsold the CBZ-X, Pulsars the RTR's and the FZ's.

Hence in hindsight, it probably means that Half/Full fairing = Premium (both in looks and Sticker Price)

                      • So....

Fairing sells better than naked (premium segment).
Muscular naked would sell better than funky naked.

Which side is easier for mojo to take?
