The 2011 Bike Launch speculation Thread

As you said if there is so much price hike then there will be a huge gap between Fazer and R15. So they have to launch an other bike to fill that. And i think its unlikely that they would launch a bike to fill the gap created by the present r15Originally posted by vishnus View PostFirst think you are special then work towards proving it.

sorry mate i cannot agree with you on the area i have made bold. have beaten R15 from a rolling drag many times, moreover once i have also asked a friend(owning R15) to ride my 220 and i rode his R15 and believe me i could just see the tail moving out of my sight no matter how hard i tried. if you're having this notion based on the speedo reading then let me tell you, R15 speedo is a bit more hyper-excited compared to 220s. Try a GPS and you would be shocked to see the difference.Originally posted by vishnus View Postsorry sir....i am new to xbhp......so don't kw d rules.....
Yamaha is eyeing the 250cc segment with d new R15 jus lyk they entered into the 220cc segment wid d old R15.........d old R15 can keep up wid a P220 which ve posses 21hp....so if d new bike got 22bhp....its sure gonna take the game away from the CBR250.....the pricing of the new R15 will be close to non ABS version of CBR...........
i'm damn sure that 22bhp R15 can keep up with the CBR............senses some serious business from Yamaha
But if the new R15 comes with a 4 valve and 22bhp package with same kind of weight, i'm sure it will be me next time to see the tail going away and away from my sight..
again the bold part... are you bajaj biased or something my friend??Originally posted by vishnus View PostAs you knw Yamaha product posses high quality.....their prices are also on the higher side.........and this bike is meant for those who want a mean machine to Ride........if i am wrong hw can a 150cc bike be price at 1.10k and still people wait for months to gets it......if Yamaha is pricing this bike lower then it is a good move and it will smash the pulasr 220's sales figures within no time because Bajaj's products posses bad after sales service and lack quality......
we r looking for better quality products.......and if Yamaha can provide it at lower cost then everyone will welcome it.........they have already localize the parts but they didn't reduced d price......but if they can pass this benefit to the customers, then we can expect a low priced hi-
performance bike from Yamaha.......
And one more thing..........i guess Yamaha is clearing all the problems of previous R15 from the newer version by testing it for a long time.........to make it more suitable for Indian roads.......i hope they are executing a 1 year test run for the new R15........i hope the current version will still continue on d market.......
bajaj has one of the best after sale service buddy...
don't know about your experience, but once i had a hard time, mailed the company about it, and i was addressed by a call within half an hour from the company, followed by the redressal of the problem the next day...
R15 has good built but what i feel is a major drawback is the size of the bike for tall people like me. that's the only reason i couldn't buy an R15. another issue i feel is weak electrical setup is the current R15, hope that's overcomed in the new ones...
you have some serious mis-conceptions buddy, for reference, you can check this out...Originally posted by vishnus View Posti strongly think that the current R15 will still continue on the market

and there is no official or any news [apart from showroom guys] of production stop of old bike
Don;t even make that mistake ..Originally posted by Raneet View PostTry a GPS and you would be shocked to see the difference.
.. the GPS has lot of error reading .. once it showed speed of 160kmph on P200
. and as i am freequent trekker and user of GPS.. the distance and time calculation has lot of delta in it

that's hillarious... 160kmph on a P200!!!!

there's friend of mine who speculates a hell lot about his P220, he says his stock bike dows 165kmph...

i told him perhaps you're weightless and 2 dimentional...

now i will tell him i know a P200 doing a 160kmph....

sure he'll commit suicide...

Brother.......jus compare the 220 & R15.....ijs jus a small bike with a small mill outputs much bigger power........ders 4bhp gap between R15 & 220......... still it came close to 220...when d engine gain an upgrade to 22bhp....can u say that still 220 can can have an edge over R15.............i dont think so..........
i own an P220 for more than 18 months and i am one of d first dts-I 220 owners in kerala...........i give extreme care to my bike, but still i experience
my starter clutch failed & replaced 3 times, speedo mete failed 3 times & replaced once, my rear tyre worn out as i completed 6000k(IRC),engine oil low level sensor still keep annoying me.....
and from d service provider............"we are trying to figure out the problem''............service center at kerala is getting worse day by day........if u vont believe.......jus come here & see for u'r self.........
and about the height problem.............thats really a problem Yamaha still cant solve........

but you know in most of the cities, the bajaj service is great... they behave more pro-active once you hit a mail to the company... but yamaha service here is quite ugly as heard from friends with service centers giving away others bikes for test-rides to potential customers, etc etc etc... mind it this is what i heard... no personal experience... and as i said, the existing R15 CANNOT keep up with the P220 but if the new one comes up with 22bhp, that light weight body and a 6th gear, it's gonna be miles away from me...

yup............ that's what i'm saying.........different story here........best service providers here are Honda & Yamaha...........still as a P220 owner.........R15 is a superb machine......its really light year ahead of its rivals.......i heard that Yamaha is planning a 250 for India.........i vont have d budget for a high priced bike..........so new R15 is a gud option for me............thank god i'm not that much tall.........else i've to think about another option............hope Yamaha will solve d problem in futureOriginally posted by Raneet View Postthat's hard luck man...

Riding the R15 is far very different than riding the Pulsar220F.Originally posted by Raneet View Postsorry mate i cannot agree with you on the area i have made bold. have beaten R15 from a rolling drag many times, moreover once i have also asked a friend(owning R15) to ride my 220 and i rode his R15 and believe me i could just see the tail moving out of my sight no matter how hard i tried.
You cannot develop speed like Pulsar220 on the R15.Again for the R15 to perform like Pulsar220, it has to be ridden differently.
As it is said R15 can keep up with Pulsar220 but may not beat it.......I totally agree with this fact.
Moreover,Pulsar220F has been revamped for more performance from the Pulsar220DTSfi(19bhp) but the R15 has remained the same 17 bhp machine.
Few things different with R15,
1.This small sports bike likes peaky power and torque delivery, it is not like the 220 which will spoil with loads of power and torque all over the rev range.
2.The R15 needs to be maintained nicely to deliver as to the best of its specifications.A bit unmaintained R15 cannot carry over high revs easy whereas it falls short off power.Pulsar 220 do not have such disadvantage, even the most humbly maintained P220 would just jump up and go, its engine less stressed all over the rev range.
3.Till 6500 rpms R15 behaves like a humble basic 150cc like the Unicorn or so, it needs to be pushed really hard to deliver really fast.
The R15 seem very weak in comparison to the P220 when ridden initially or by wannabe riders without any knowledge of its actual strength.
The times I have ridden a good R15 ,I have ridden to my fill.
First thing is to rev past 8000rpms per gear and then shift to next, and the acceleration is unnerving.......unlike many other bikes. It is a machine whose engine was built to endure that and to attain that fully, the gear shift has to be very precise and all other parts performing at their best.Hell's Angel

even i don't think so, let's see what they have to offer.Originally posted by anush View PostI seriously doubt that the new r15 will come with 22BHP. There could be an engine upgrade but not so much...
what i meant was, even the R15 rider, with his R15 riding habits, beat me with the vanishing factor and even though i red-lined, i couldn't catch him up... probably because by the time i reached good speeds, he was way ahead and then i also believe the top speed of 220 is more than the current R15... maybe that's another reason.Originally posted by MACH50 View PostRiding the R15 is far very different than riding the Pulsar220F.

but should have seen his face when he got down of my bike.
there was a big grin just like this smiley
. i was confused as to what emotion to bring out, sorrow for loosing out to the guy i have beaten so many times or my bike winning.
