  • If the new Yamaha is going to compete with CBR then it should have more power than the CBR. Because that's the way Yamaha does atleast with the r series.
First think you are special then work towards proving it.

Never realized that you people were referring to this bike as R17
people like to do that. it's fun.

up until now the bike's been called... R16/R17/R2/R25/R45/R15SS/RD15.

        • It is Very Much an R15...... atleast as far as i could stare into it.... I agree to Satyen's point of it appearing as a D chances are it might me 15.... and by the yammie design for r15 it can very much look like a R"D"

WHat if the yamaha starts again the flagship for RD's and they migh be seeing the potential....

P.S - when the 1st leaked image of the red r15 "re oomph" one was launched it mentioned r15 .... lets hope..

          • i feel it will be launched in the year end
mainly because the yamaha championships are going on
and no company would like to endorse a product which s out of production...
that wont make sense to them
i don think it will be launched before the championships end ...

hey! as zOOm as i can see there are only two characters after the capital R
              so RD15 /R15SS ruled out
what do u think xionite ??

              • This is what I feel -
                1. The new bike will still be an R15.
                2. If it has a higher power output then it might sell alongside the current model. If not then the wait for this model could be long.
                3. It would be more expensive than the current model and still the college kids and the relatively younger guys would make their parents pay through their noses for a 150 cc bike.
                4. It would look way better than the current model but the front would still be ugly as f*uk.

                My suggestion -

If you are willing to pay over and above a lakh of rupees for a 150cc bike with a flashy fairing and a hotter looking tail - then live a little tight and save some money for a Honda CBR250. Its not that far off. or just take out a loan... get a Ninja 250.

I know I am bound to get flamed for saying this in a sea of R15 loving people. But those are just my views

                      • Well, in my last post, the picture didn't get attached, so trying it again..as I had said earlier, in this pic, the number does look like 17.

                        • ^^^ Well it looks more like 47, so if the 1 can look like a 4 why cant the 5 look like a 7??? , Even in an earlier post it was stated that the 5 on the current R15 looks a little like 7.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

It indeed is R17.. the Joeled R15 engine with a bigger bore with 165 cc rounded off to 170cc.. LOL!!

a bike is only as good as its rider...

                            • Am sick of this "Baniya" attitude of all moto companies (except Bajaj which shows it has guts). Ever since Ninja 250R got launched, not even one company has some up with a proper middle weight multi cylinder bike!!

At least get the VTR250, Honda.

Buying a bike is one thing but then, fueling up comes out of your own pocket money.
