Very easy to apply, just apply one coat & simply scrub with micro fiber cloth. Once applied, you don't need to apply for next 6 months for sure, though the company says 8 months. One full bottle is sufficient to wax a mid size car like Civic, so one bottle is more than sufficient for the life time of the motorcycle & its such an amazing paint protector.

Collinite Wax Products* :: Choice of the Pros :: Auto, Marine and Industrial

The history of Collinite 845 started as a product that was designed for electrical insulation almost 80 years back, and people found out it works great on automobile. People use it on Glass/Windshield , it works as rain repellent also, and help smooth wiper movement. And some people use it as interior protector on dashboard and all. And some use it as metal protector also

Very interesting indeed ... i bough this .. from here eBay India: Collinite Liquid Wax No. 845 - Most durable CAR Wax (item 130494928204 end time 05-Jun-2011 18:15:02 IST) .. n used it on my Optra, feels good, now need to use it on my Pulsar too !!

Can someone shed light on the Pros and Cons of TYRE POLISH? I have used the 3M tire polish which is a spray. It makes the tyres look good, but then dust sticks on to the tyres like leeches.

Dude tyre shine is for cars, not really worth it on a bike tyre as you only have a small area where you can apply it, most of the 3m detailing stuff sucks imo, get yourself some turtle wax, autoglym or meguires, the good stuff actually works out cheaper in the long run.

Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !

Hey, finally I found out where we could get turtle products.
You could get them in Karol Bagh, when you enter from the road opposite to 'Hanuman Mandir' (Badi Hanuman ji ki murti wala mandir), when you reach the first cut take it to the right hand side, there you have shops of Dhamija Auto then Upkar auto House and then a car accessories shop (don't remember the name ), there you can get turtle products. A sardarji will be in there.
Not all turtle products are there but main ones are like Turtle Super HArd Shell Wax and Turtle Zip Wax and Wash.

Why take chances then? If you want a superior to it, please opt for Formula one polish.
Actually fake Formula1 products have flooded the market. I have seen their wax polish in various tub sizes while they are available only in one size (dont recollect the quantity).

Best bet is to use the local desi ones like waxpol or buy the best (meguiars) off the net and have it shipped home. Will cost a bomb but will be worth every penny.

Tire polish is used to make the tire shine. It only improves the look factor and yes, it does attract lots of dust. Please avoid using it on the contact area (where the tire meets the road) or you'll have a nasty slide. Sometimes the chemicals in these polishes can cause the rubber in the tire to breakdown... lesser tire life.

Best to use a hard brush and detergent soap to get the grime off the tires.

It looks like Mothers Polishes(USA) are now in India and reasonably priced, they are famous for metal polishes like Mag, Aluminium, Chrome. Want to check if this is genuine in eBay?

From what I have heard,Mothers' products have good reviews abroad especially among car care dealers. I have ordered the FX SynWax from them. Will post a review once I receive it. Had a talk with Auto Mall guys as well. They guaranteed that it's the real deal.

                          Hey TijoJoy,

I called up 3M guys in Bangalore about 3 months back and they said they will get back to me with information, but I m still waiting . As per 3M, they do have Bike Care center's, but no idea as to whether they are franchisee or direct sale.. if you can, try calling them up and post your feedback here.

Pinaki sir... I too saw that 3M bottle in a local auto shop... believe me.. I must give credits to the person/company that is bold to make a fake product of behemoth and still avoiding getting sued. 3M liquid polishes don't come cheap, I bought mine last year along with paste wax(I too still believe in solid wax like you and take opportunity to build some arm muscles ) and this package bombed my pocket for Rs. 1000 (a friend of mine got it from UK). 3M perfect-it costs Rs.800+ in India.
And Rs.90 bottles are good for those who can sleep peacefully at night thinking they are giving best for their bikes.

Guys, complete newbie to this polish, wax and stuff here. I own a Discover and want to keep it sparkling clean always. So went through the entire thread and here is my understanding. Correct me if I am wrong. There are a few things which I do not understand, kindly help me out with that too.

                              1. Bike should be washed with normal water first to remove general dirt.
                              2. Use a automotive washing liquid like Amway's to clean it using a microfiber cloth. Dry it using a MF cloth. If I use that Optimum No Rinse liquid then I can use it directly without step 1.
                              3. Use a grease stain remover to remove that grease on chain guard, silencer and side of engine crank where oils from the road get splashed on to in the monsoon season.
                              4. A polish is a liquid simply used for better shine of the vehicle and protect the paint to an extent. A good one is Turtle wax or Amway's again. Avoid liquid wax here as they tend to be abrasive. Apply it on the paint using a MF cloth in circular motion. After 2 - 3 min wipe it using another dry MF cloth. Repeat for full bike. Once you are done, put a drop of water on the paint and if it slides off then it is a job well done. Else polish more.
                              5. If I can, apply that Collinite 845. Same procedure as for polish including the check. If I do this then for another 3 - 4 months all I need to do is just to dry wipe the bike and it will be still clean. After that, start from step 1.

                              Done.

But here is the problem. My bike has non paint areas like matte on silencer, chrome on crash guard, normal plastic like half of front mud guard, the entire of the rear and chain guard and engine and spokes and rim. How do I take care of these?

These are the parts which get more dust than the paint because of obvious reasons. Especially during monsoon.
