Yes,you can spray WD-40 there but best way is to put some drops of oil in the key hole.

So my question is.. What shall I do now to get it started. The bajaj ASS is quite far off from my house and I cant take it up till there without getting it started.

Also please tell me how to avoid this problem in future.

PS: On one previous occasion I got my tank cleaned due to presence of water at the ASS. So please suggest something other than this.

          Thanks in advance.

Find some local mechanic who knows about your bike and get him at your place to get the bike started. The best thing if you leave your bike standing in heavy rain is to put a plastic cover in the hole from where the petrol is poured in the tank and then close the lid, as it will save you from any unwanted water droplets getting inside the tank

Hey shivanshu thanks for the advice, I actually found out something that can be done on your own .. no need for a mechanic.

You must have noticed the small chinese type screw near the accelerator screw below your bikes petrol tank.

Just unscrew it and adjust the petrol switch[the one which you use to toggle from reserve to main and vice versa] to OFF position.

Now let the liquid solution of petrol and water come out..after it stops just tighten the chinese screw and put the reserve switch to ON .

              You are done.!!

A few drops of water may enter the fuel tank from the moisture present in petrol in our country or condensation etc . Rain water should not enter a fuel tank or the carburetor at all under any circumstances . If it does , the tank is defective . Have it replaced or repaired .
Such leaky tank shall not contain the volatile petrol well and strand you by the roadside while riding in heavy rains . I love to ride long in the rains .

I cleaned and lubed my chain yesterday, despite lots of heavy rain, the bike was running like a dog, now it's pretty sweet again.

As my bike is not kept under cover and being in a high rainfall area, I have noticed the following issues \,

                  1) The key in the ignition gets stuck, it's difficult to turn.
                  2) The pass light switch also gets stuck on brights, not such an issue as most people drive/ride with brights on at all times.

                  What is the best solution?

WD40 or a lubricant, WD40 being a dispersant rather than a lubricant would IMO be a required to be used every 3-4 days, oil would in theory last longer as would using grease on the pass light switch, but in reality with the heavy rains and also at times very strong sun light it is probably be a different story.

                  What do you guys use?

It's my first monsoon with a bike.

Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Put a drop of oil in key hole,it will make it smooth and it worked 100% for me.

Spray WD40 on the pass light Switch.

Precautions To Be Taken With Your Flood Hit Bike/s

Alright bikers, so the monsoon has hit its full glory here in
mumbai and also everywhere around India. The thing worrying me is my complex has an
open parking, and my bike is submerged under water
till the engine oil cap, or till the silencer (i hope i made that clear, not well versed with naming parts of a bike.
And yes my bike is 2005 pulsar dtsi). I dont ride my
bike much. Hence worried, what should i do next after
the rain stops/ground water level drops. Should i directly try to start my bike, or
take some precautions before doing so ? Should i change my engine oil ? Really
confused, and very much worried. Would really appreciate valuable comments to flow in from the
members here. Also it would help other fellow bikers
on how to deal in such situations with their lovable machines.
As we all know precaution is better than cure. A few knowledgeable steps during such period, can help us avoid nasty consequences.
                      Thanks

                            Suggestion

If water goes into your silencer, check your engine oil too. I had water seeping into my engine and the oil had become frothy !!! Changed it immediately.

                              Monsoons problem for Pulsars

As monsoons have attacked Delhi,a problem has started with my P135Ls.
Water seeps into my bike's petrol tank and m afraid that it also goes in the tank from the lid.
I'm afraid as a mech told that it creates problems.
One day while removing water at petrol pump a person while riding told me to oper the pore inside the lid which help in removal of water..i checked for the pore but i couldn't locate any...is there one?
Pls help guys...i dnt wanna ruin my bike.
Note:Pls dnt suggest to buy a cover as i'm very lazy in that matter ;p
                              Thanks.
